Hot on the heels of their critically-lauded singles compilation, It's Time!, Cause Co-Motion! have hit the studio to bring you their latest installment of earnest DIY pop, this time in the form of this fab six song 12" EP entitled Because Because Because.
Over the last few years Cause Co-Motion! have made quite a name for themselves as purveyors of crash-pop of the finest quality, blending 60s garage-pop impulses with Messthetic-inflected post-punk and the scrappy end of the 80s indie scene, as exemplified by groups like Television Personalities, Beat Happening and The Pastels. Committed to tape in the course of a day spent with Gary Olson of the Ladybug Transistor at his Marlborough Farms studio, this EP balances the band’s frenetic attack with a more open approach to arrangements and space.
The songs are all top-drawer, and we fully expect the driving "Leave It All" and the Buddy Holly-esque "You Lose" to take their places in the Cause Co-Motion! pantheon of future classics. You can go to the album info page for more info and a preview MP3. All copies come in really nice jacket: hand-painted with silkscreen overlay. Each one totally unique!

a richard bishop hay que encontrarlo el momento, a mí este disco es el que más me ha gustado de los que he escuchado de él. de momento top 5 de lo que llevamos de año, en mi opiniónComparto lo del sacrilegio, aunque a mí me gusta menos que otros discos suyos: aun estando bien, lo veo con menos chispa y me resulta un pelín monótono

uuuu que bien! 2 largo de esta banda de chicago con integrantes de warhammer 48k y que el año pasado sacaron el "Hunt Like Devil/JAMZ" y hace poco un EP… Krautrock, Psycodelia, Rifff, taca taca tucu tucu.

Criada en un ambiente artístico y musical desarrolló la inquietud por realizar sus propias obras musicales a la vez que desarrolló su expresión artística en diferentes ámbitos… Fue autodidacta en el aprendizaje de guitarra, voz y composición. Influenciada por la música folk americana e inglesa entre una amplia variedad de estilos musicales pasando por el Pop y el Rock definiendo así su estilo. Durante su trayecto musical ha pasado por diferentes grupos murcianos como FIRST AID (finalistas del Creajoven 2004) y ha colaborado con músicos y bandas nacionales.

Richard Skelton's wondrous "Marking Time" was an easy inclusion in our top 10 albums of the year just a short few months ago, but we didn't immediately realise that the artist was responsible for an absolute plethora of projects conceived, realised, beautifully packaged and self-released via his own "Sustain-Release" website over the last few years. It's one of those things, you discover a new artist, get completely obsessed by their work and then discover that beyond the precious little nuggets of material you own there's actually a world of music spread out in handmade limited editions owned by a lucky few individuals prescient enough to have found them in the first place. Out of all of the bespoke editions that we managed to get our hands on, "Box Of Birch" (recorded under the 'A Broken Consort' moniker) has been the one we have been most emotionally attached to, and its with absolute delight that we greet this new edition on the ever-impressive Tompkins Square label. If you've never heard this album before, or indeed any of Richard Skelton's material, you're in for quite a treat, he makes the most intimate and enveloping sounds imaginable from the barest of ingredients - bowed strings, field recordings, piano - and very little else. Each of the four long pieces slowly evolves and changes colour, with a profoundly moving, almost mournful undertone that never ceases to affect us despite having now listened to this album more times than we could possibly remember. Treat this as a second chance to pick up one of the great unknown modern classical albums of recent times - and if you ever see anything this guy is involved with - buy on sight. Incredible.
