NoMeansNo to re-record Wrong!
NoMeansNo's seminal sophomore effort, Wrong, has long been a fan favorite and the band's only Gold record, but very few people realize that it was actually originally conceived and recorded as an Andy Kerr solo project with drumming provided by Show Business Giants mainstay Scott Henderson. However, label pressure courtesy of Jello Biafra and his main henchman Greg Werckman forced Kerr to pull a Tony Iommi and release it under the far more marketable NoMeansNo banner. Initially Andy wished to call the project Quicksilver Incarceration.
Since John, Raul and Rob Wright have spent years touring and playing many of the songs from Wrong, they felt that it was time they recorded the album with the sound they have become famous for: Bay Area Thrash as Done By Canadians. Raul Wright will be engaged in a previous committment with Seattle's The Accused, but local guitar legend Jeff Waters has volunteered to lay down some hot licks while Andy Kerr himself plans to play some ripping solos live in the studio via Skype.
Look for the album to released on mini-SD format in early 2010.

Plan B magazine RIP
Sad news: the issue of Plan B magazine that hits shelves on June 1 will be the last.
We’ve come to this decision after a lot of deliberation. The current economic climate, combined with the situation of the music industry - to which, whether we like it or not, the fortunes of a commercial monthly music mag are inextricably linked - has made it ever harder for us to continue producing the magazine the way we want to. To keep going, we’d need to make cuts in staff, content, size, frequency, print quality - and we’re not prepared to do that. We’re still above water, we’re making some beautiful magazines, and we are quitting while we’re ahead.
Thanks to everybody who has supported us these last five years, and hopefully we’ll see you in some other form in the not so distant future.

Parece que pese a la muerte de Ron Asheton, seguiremos teniendo Stooges:
Iggy Pop to reunite 'Raw Power'-era Stooges
Iggy Pop has hinted that he may reform The Stooges to play songs from their classic 1973 album 'Raw Power'.
Pop confirmed the news in an interview with The Australian, saying that he recently met 'Raw Power' guitarist James Williamson and discussed reuniting to play songs from the album with him.
"I had a meeting in LA last week with James (Williamson),'' he said. "It was the first time we had seen each other in 30 years. So we talked about doing something together. 'Raw Power' would be the repertoire.''
In January this year, original Stooges guitarist Ron Asheton died of a heart attack. Asheton played bass on 'Raw Power', and also reunited with The Stooges for their 2003 album 'The Weirdness' and subsequent tours.
Although Asheton was an original member of The Stooges, Pop commented that "There is always Iggy And The Stooges, the second growth of the band.''
Speaking shortly after Asheton's death, Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones told NME.COM that he would be keen to replace him.
"If they wanna carry on, I'd gladly step into his shoes," Jones said. "It'd be a laugh. You can put that out there. If they wanna carry on, I wouldn't mind playing a bit of guitar."
Pop also confirmed that Asheton had written six or seven "hard-driving rhythm tracks" before his death that could be used in a future project.
On their recent reunion tours, The Stooges have refrained from playing any material from 'Raw Power'. The album includes some of their best known songs, including 'Search And Destroy', 'Gimme Danger' and the title track.
It is currently unconfirmed who would play Asheton's bass parts in the reformation, although Minutemen's Mike Watt has played the instrument for The Stooges since 2003.

¿Habéis barajado la posibilidad de que vuestros foreros se encargaran de alguno de los escenarios del festival al igual que el "ATP curated by the fans”? Todo es posible.
Al loro, como como caiga en manos de los droneros o de los flojunos, esto acaba en guerra civil.
Personalmente, he aprendido mucho con todo esto y le tengo un especial cariño a todos esos maravillosos “freakies” que se han pasado todo este tiempo apoyándonos incondicionalmente desde la red. Creo que sin ellos no hubiésemos llegado hasta aquí.
