In 2010, she connected with a new generation of LA musicians attuned to her vision, including Fernando Perdomo and Chris Price, both accomplished musicians and producers in their own right. The trio began recording the eclipse song, “River Of God”, and what became a new album’s title track, The Soul Of All Natural Things.
The Soul Of All Natural Things, for all its apparent serenity, is also a subtly polemical album, full of exhortations to take a step out of our frantic everyday lives. “We get too far out of balance and we must find a way to get back to our polestar,” Perhacs says. “I have a deeper purpose. My soul is giving itself to the people; I want them to be helped, I want them to be lifted.”

@e7p0gv0n:Meet the New Bums! They're not your father's Bums, but they're bringing good old-fashioned songcraft back for another try. Ben Chasny from Six Organs and Donovan Quinn from Skygreen Leopards; two voices and guitars with the occasional other element all compete for the loneliest sound in the room. Lots of laughs too — if you like 'em dark, that is.
These two didn't like each other at first, but now make sweet and sour music together over the light of the magical Sterno. Their songs are all that: songs, with lyrics set in a space to speak to the human buried in you. People's music, with all the stark confessions, tall tales, bleak humors and punch lines the people can bear. The voices are two, spinning harmonies, both heavenly. Behind the acoustics and voices is lots of space, but there are a few extra instruments that come and go as the boys move from stately processional to street corner sing-around to bluesy weeper to low-rollicking rock 'n' roll and back again.
Picking their direction and floating along on a pair of acoustics, New Bums are the sound of Old Drunk America, dancing out of the shadows, coming forth again to stand in the light, in the hopes of repopulating those sad old single-occupancy hotels before they're all torn down.
