How do I stop my margins from shrinking?
-
Hey everyone, I run a small online store here in the US, and honestly, it feels like I am working twice as hard for half the profit. Shipping costs are killing me, ads are more expensive, and I feel like there is money leaking somewhere but I cannot figure out where. I do not want to just slash prices or fire people. Anyone been through this and found a smarter way to fix it?

Yeah, that is a super common problem right now, and the fix is not about cutting everything, it is about finding the actual leaks. Most stores bleed money in five spots, which are inventory, shipping, ads, labor, and software subscriptions. You need to audit each one and see what is actually worth the spend. There is a good breakdown of ecommerce cost optimization that walks through each area, you can check it out here https://easync.io/articles/ecommerce-cost-optimization/ . It is more about working smarter than just spending less.

Start with your packaging, because oversized boxes can trigger dimensional weight charges that cost way more than the actual weight. Just right sizing your top SKUs can save you a surprising amount every month.
