Grizzly Bear are back with their first new release since 2006's Yellow House!
Friend - out November 5th (6th in US) - contains a lush, dramatic and varied collection of 10 songs and collaborations.
Material from both previous Grizzly Bear albums has been reworked & covered by several stars of the international alternative scene - including CSS, Band of Horses and Atlas Sound (aka Deerhunter). Beirut and The Dirty Projectors also bring extra vocals to the already powerful choral force.
In addition to collaborations there's also new songs by Grizzly Bear, and even the band's version of a song by 60's group The Crystals.

Justin Vernon– debuting as Bon Iver after having spent time in DeYarmond Edison, Rosebuds, and Ticonderoga-- has crafted a ruminative collection of songs full of natural imagery. The album was recorded primarily in a remote cabin in Wisconsin with just voice and guitar, and its sense of isolation persists despite the use of subtle electronic processing and the occasional presence of other musicians on percussion and horns.

Es el sábado 3 de noviembre y tocan Desguace Beni, Los Caballitos de Dusseldorf y Antigua & Barbuda, estos últimos son colegas. Dudo que tengas pensado ir, con la apretada agenda de noviembre, pero bueno.Perdón por el off-topic.

Post-rock cantado, si simplificamos burdamente. En este mismo post anda la filtración (si te interesa, la rebusco en un momentín).
En cuanto a Acid Mothers Temple, es el viernes 2 en La Boite (Callao/Sol) por 10 euros, creo recordar. A ese de cabeza.

My Downfall será el tercer lanzamiento de lo que va de año, primero fue el ep Pink+Green el 10" Sabbath Dubs . Por lo que dice Aaron Funk en este álbum se aleja del sonido breakcore tan bruto y se enfoca más en lo orquestal cerrando el camino que abrio el disco ‘Rossz Csillag Alta Született’ (Planet Mu, 05)… disco mucho más melódico donde se funden los breaks y graves marca de la casa en su justa medida y un sonido mucho más orgánico con orquestaciones de cuerda y viento...

Since 2005, there has been one Venetian Snares album that everybody has talked about - the masterpiece "Rossz Csillag Allat Szuletett", Aaron Funk's story of falling in love among the spires of Budapest, scored by an orchestra and the Amen break. If that album was in effect a question, then this one is his answer: the unfolding of this particular Hungarian story. If anything, "My Downfall" is even more epic and bombastic than its predecessor, but not without those little humorous touches so beloved of Snares.

The product of musical internet ‘dating’, London multi-instrumentalists Keiron Phelan and David Sheppard encountered the inscrutable Franco-Italian Niandra Ladies via MySpace in 2006 and were immediately drawn to their mercurial electro-acoustic textures. The Londoners - the duo behind State River Widening and a critically acclaimed 2006 album (Harps Old Master) under their own names for the Leaf label - proposed a four-way collaboration. The peripatetic Ladies, now berthed in Gothenburg and Barcelona respectively, responded favourably, and soon files were whizzing back and forth across the European mainland, with Phelan and Sheppard wedding their acoustic guitars, woodwind, strings, Fender Rhodes and percussion to the Ladies’ ambient sculptures. Vocals, courtesy of the Ladies’ English pal Laura Sharpe and Phelan/Sheppard’s sometime Spanish collaborator Ines Naranjo, were spliced in, David and Keiron mixing the polyglot smorgasbord into two gleaming tracks in a studio beneath a ukulele shop in London’s Spitalfields.
Games Of Position is based on a recitation from an old anthology of board games; it’s enigmatic, melodious vocals meticulously interleaved with fluttering electronics, plangent acoustic guitars and swallow-diving violas. This is elegant baroque pop music as re-imagined by outsider artists and, honestly, it sounds like no on else.
