@2r885r6s:In a quarter of a century recording solo and with Tucson’s skewed country collective Giant Sand, Gelb made only two big-budget albums, both lost in record-company wrangles, but his finest work is often found on the CDs he slips out himself. Upside Down Home 2007, available at www.howegelb.com , abandons the gospel choirs of last year’s ’Sno Angel Like You for a stripped-down set of old, new and spontaneous compositions, with Howe’s sparkling acoustic guitar embellished by Thoger Lund’s stand-up bass. Recorded as live in an adobe studio, Howe sounds vividly present, a stream-of-consciousness street-corner troubadour.

Omar Rodriguez-Lopez is band leader and musical composer of the writing partnership at the core of The Mars Volta. Along with vocalist/lyricist Cedric Bixler-Zavala, Rodriguez-Lopez has established himself as one of the most recognizable and influential rock artists of the early twenty-first century.
Hailed by the Boston Phoenix as "one of the 10 most influential performers of the 90's", no other artist of the 20th century has fought, forged, punched, and sculpted their own artistic vision in such a uniquely original way. Defying categorization, Lydia Lunch actively has conquered new territories, and has gained international recognition for the innovative quality of her work.
Omar Rodriguez-Lopez & Lydia Lunch is the forthcoming EP collaboration between Omar Rodriguez-Lopez of The Mars Volta and spoken word artist Lydia Lunch.
Rodriguez-Lopez had been a fan of Lydia's work and invited her to the All Tomorrow's Parties Festival when they curated it in December of 2005. The meeting eventually resulted in their first recorded collaboration with the intention to record more in the future.
The music was recorded in Amsterdam and New York and Lydia's vocals were recorded at her own studio in Barcelona
