Giardini di Mirò, uno de los grupos más interesantes y conocidos de la escena italiana, han sonorizado una de las más bellas películas del mudo en Italia. Il fuoco, El fuego, fue rodada en 1915 en Italia, uno de los últimos estertores de la que en aquellos años era aún la primera potencia cinematográfica mundial. Por desgracia fue también la cinematografía de la que menos films llegaron hasta nosotros, pero quedan aún auténticas joyas.
Al parecer saldrá en DVD una edición del film con la banda sonora de los Giardini, ignoro si con la grabación de alguna de las exhibiciones en vivo o con material de estudio. En fin, que esta unión de dos de mis perversiones, los Giardini y el cine mudo italiano, merecía una reseña. -

"on a highway", por su parte, es más hermética y ambiental, asemejándose más al material antiguo del grupo
ya podría traerlos Lopera, Del Nido, Monteseirín, la Duquesa de Alba o quien sea …

joder! pero si el milenio solo ha empezado hace 7 años! Estoy seguro que en 993 años que quedan para que finalize, saldran discos mucho mejores!

Los hermanos Reid han confirmado, al fin, que la resurrección de The Jesus and Mary Chain no se limitará a los conciertos sino que habrá un nuevo disco, en el que ya están trabajando.
Ha sido el manager de la banda, Kevin Oberlin, el que ha hecho algunas aclaraciones al respecto en una entrevista a la revista Billboard. Oberlin ha confesado que al principio, antes de la reunión del grupo, estaban "trabajando en los discos en solitario de Jim y William" y que cuando contactó con el promotor del festival norteamericano de Coachella para negociar una actuación de Jim, "ellos nos hicieron una oferta para que tocasen Jesus and Mary Chain" y no sólo Jim Reid. Y además de poder llenarse el bolsillo con alguna gira, pronto surgió la idea de un nuevo disco, del que William Reid confiesa que "será más bien una evolución. Suena a Jesus and Mary Chain pero creo que uno evoluciona tanto como persona como compositor. No puedes estancarte. Si lo haces, estás perdido".
De momento son muchos los sellos que se han interesado por el lanzamiento, tanto multinacionales como sellos alternativos. Oberlin se deja querer y argumenta que "la banda siempre ha tomado sus propias decisiones en función de sus intereses sin tener en cuenta muchas de las presiones externas y tomándoselo con calma".

The Gang of Four are back in the studio working on new songs and recordings for release in 2008. Dave Allen is posting about the process of writing and recording and also posting rough takes of the new songs to his blog as the band work their way through all the ideas on the table. At the end of the message is a link to a MP3 of the first rough recording. There'll be more coming over the next couple of weeks. Here's what Dave has to say about it all.
"To prove that we are actually working and not just sitting around debating Situationism or the collapse of the recording industry, I have posted below a very rough recording (culled from video footage I shot) of a new song that I will call Password (you can be certain that this title will change.) The aim here is that if you are inclined to follow our progress as we write and record then these MP3 posts will be like milestones which can be used later to compare the genesis of a song against the final version.
We are debating, as we do, how we will release the finished goods. Jon King reminds us that our career kick-off was defined by the Damaged Goods EP, a three song, cheaply recorded debut that made a lot of waves in the UK and European press well before we signed to the majors. So how about we start the new round of releases with a 4 song digital EP? Probably. The 'album' could then be built over time and released eventually as a CD, but in a compelling, high-value package that makes it valuable to our fans. We have those 4 song ideas as I write and they will be burnished and honed over the next 12 weeks or so. It then makes sense to get them into the hands (and ears) of the public as quickly as possible. Digital makes the most sense along with downloadable artwork, a vinyl record with free MP3s and remixes."Go to Pampelmoose to get the MP3.
