The wait is finally over. Four years have rolled by like tumblin’ tumbleweeds since Tucson garagemeisters The Okmoniks released their last single on their own DIY In-Fi label. Purveyors of short but sweet organ-laced blasts of danceable, ’60s-inspired garage punk since 2002, the fun-loving quartet has earned a well-deserved reputation as one of the most energetic young bands on the scene. Helene 33, who also plays classical violin, tickles the ivories of a battered electric organ and sings her lungs out, while Sammy, Trent and Justin support with guitar, bass and drums, respectively. More concerned with stage presence than musical perfection, their brand of sloppy, fast and raucous rock speeds along like a desert jackrabbit on the run from Wile E. Coyote. Their debut LP, "Party Fever", released by Slovenly Recordings to coincide with the label’s upcoming SXSW showcase, promises to be the band’s best record yet, featuring songs like "Teenage Timebomb" and "It’s Not You", which are available for preview on their MySpace page. Only 1,000 copies will be pressed – including 300 one-sided copies on clear blue vinyl – so get ‘em while they’re hot, before collector nerds like me scoop them up, thus ensuring their future overpricing on eBay

La verdad es que me ha costado conseguir los temas en cuestion, lo tienen controladisimo.

En lo musical, pues o el Pro-Tools ha avanzado mucho o el tio se ha metido todo el oxigeno de la tierra porque el cabron se pega unos gorgoritos que ni el Suitchailofmain. Las canciones basurilla, ni imitando a Guns n Roses (The Blues) se salvan.

"Preteen Weaponry", itself, has three parts and is meant to be listened to at once (in order). It is almost entirely instrumental. Each part was recorded at different times and in different states of mind, but all on the same day.

Oneida members past, present and future all contributed to this project.

It reminds Oneida of what a live performance might sound like. It contains captured improvisational moments married with craft.

Oneida have worked on this song off and on for the last three years.

You can consider it an introduction to their forthcoming triple album "Rated O", which is part two of the fore-mentioned triptych (to be released by Jagjaguwar in early 2009).

Here is some added context from the label brass:

Oneida has been releasing genre-defying music since 1997. They have eight full-length albums and various EPs and singles to their name, a perversely hypnotic live show as a calling card, and their reputation amongst other musicians is renowned. The list of great musicians and artists that Oneida have performed or collaborated with is far too extensive to briefly summarize here. They are critical darlings, they have become ambassadors for Jagjaguwar, and they are paying it forward with a label of their own called Brah Records (distributed by Jagjaguwar). For the reductivist in you, consider Oneida the bastard offspring of a Can/Suicide marriage, a band who is not afraid to pluck, tap, bend, synth or crash their way to the various extremes of rock, pop, folk and the avant-garde, and who brilliantly do so without alienating the respective fans of any of these so-called "genres".
