The London Intl Ska Festival returns to the capital next Easter weekend (28-31 March 2013). With 4 main events and a series of fringe events including cinema, DJ all-nighters, Record Fair, thames cruise, kids days and exhibitions all happening at iconic and famed London venues.

Originally launched in 1988, The London International Ska Festival returned to critical acclaim in 2011 and has seen Ken Boothe, Marcia Griffiths, Dave & Ansell Collins, The Pioneers, Rico Rodriguez MBE, Jerry Dammers (The Specials), Don Letts, Lynval Golding (The Specials), Neville Staple (The Specials), Neol Davies (The Selecter), Laurel Aitken, Owen Gray, Rhoda Dakar (Bodysnatchers/Special AKA), Ska Cubano, Hotknives, The Loafers, Dub Pistols, The Dualers, Potato 5, Buster Shuffle, The Skints, amongst many others perform.
From its birth in Jamaica, Ska has come a long way - morphing and inspiring every generation and reaching all corners of the world. The festival will once again showcases all Ska has to offer from its roots in rhythm and blues, mento and calypso, to the Jamaican originators, the progression through rocksteady and reggae, 2 Tone, ska-punk and right up-to-date with 21st century Ska sounds.
We are once again delighted to be celebrating the wonderful world of Ska in all its irrepressible guises in 2013.

Mientras tanto, en el SOS 4.8 se suman Vitalic (presentando "espectáculo", o sea que un 50% de posibilidades de que se caiga del cartel visto lo del año pasado), Modeselektor y Citizens. Los últimos no sé cómo habrán evolucionado desde aquella prehistoria donde estaban en el 981, pero los otros dos ya prometen fiestaca. En el Facebook están contentísimos, pero yo espero con impaciencia que empiecen a dar esos nombres tan chulos de auditorio murciano.

Y bueno, por completar: Arenal sigue con su verbena confirmando a Son Klein, Carlos Sadness, GoMad!&Monster, Havalina, Eme DJ, The Suicide of Western Culture, We Are Standard, Belzebass, La Habitación Roja, The Zombie Kids, Standstill, Bonaparte, Lori Meyers, Dirtyphonics, Capital Cities y Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (copypaste de JNSP, claro). Cualquiera puede escoger sus nombres salvables de aquí, pero el olor a panceta a la plancha no se lo quita nadie.

Si sirve para traer a una serie media más que decente y evitar a los cabezones tipo Kiss o Aerosmith, bienvenidos sean esos recortes A ver si empiezan a confirmar alguna cosa pronto, que por aquí nos hemos cansado de esperar confirmaciones y ya estamos comprando entradas para ver a viejales (tipo Young) por Europa... Black Sabbath anuncian gira para el próximo año... quien sabe.
