  • Japandorf & Klaus Dinger - Japandorf (Grönland)

    @1nckoyon:

    “Japandorf” is the last album production of Klaus Dinger (1946-2008). In fact “Japandorf” is the perfectly accomplished third album of a series of three albums in total, which were produced since 2000 by the likewise named project Japandorf.

    Un poco de pop soleado

  • Mil gracias por esos Leisure Society.
    Sus dos anteriores discos son capaces tanto de alegrarte el día más triste como de darte pequeñas puntaditas de nostalgia en esos momentos en los que crees que ya no puedes sentir nada.
    Grandes músicos además en directo (los vi hace…¿4 años? en el Moby Dick).
    Lo esperaba con ganas, gracias de nuevo

  • kinski / cosy moments (kill rock stars, 2013)

    @2c481sk5:

    It’s been a few years since Kinski’s last album came out. They know that. Kinski also knows they could have stopped making music a long time ago, but they still have a lot to say. “We could have easily stopped,” said guitarist Chris Martin, speaking about the five-year gap between albums he made with Lucy Atkinson, Matthew Reid-Schwartz and Barrett Wilke. “But it felt wrong to quit. We wanted to keep doing it somehow. To keep going and keep making vital, great music.” Their upcoming release Cosy Moments due out in April 2013 on Kill Rock Stars is just that: Vital and great.

    The album is filled with the glistening, graceful chords and heavy proto-punk rhythms that have become Kinski’s hallmarks over the last 14 years of playing music together. Not that the band is walking in their own musical footprints on the new album. Instead, Cosy Moments is the result of Martin, the band’s songwriter, spending the last few years figuring out where to go next musically. “We wanted to make something poppier and more direct,” Martin said. “That was the kind of music I wanted to hear then and that's what we tried to do. I was really sick of hearing people step on wah wah pedals and solo over psych rock. There were so many people doing that. Including us. We've always had more poppy, songish elements But we just took it further this time.”

    @2c481sk5:

    Melvins have announced an April 30 release for Everybody Loves Sausages, an album of covers of songs the band says have had a big influence on them. The tracks covered range from glam rock (Queen's “Best Friend”) to mod rock (The Jam's "Art School”), with plenty of hard rock and even Divine's "Female Trouble" thrown in for good measure.

    @2c481sk5:

    Cold War Kids album ‘Dear Miss Lonelyhearts’ came to life at the band’s San Pedro, CA studio. They enlisted new guitar player, Dann Gallucci (Murder City Devils, Modest Mouse) and Lars Stalfors to produce. “We were shaken up, ready to let certain songs go further than before by trying new styles and arrangements, while keeping others sparse and caring more about the finished product and less about how we got there,” says lead singer Nathan Willett.

    vondelpark / seabed (r&s, 2013)

    ▼ download

    @2c481sk5:

    Up to this point Vondelpark has felt like a slightly intangible and secret entity. Both their Sauna and nyc stuff and nyc bags EPs were passed along enthusiastically in hushed tones by those that heard them. The music carried the most exciting strands of bedroom music; it sounded special, and at first it was almost impossible to tell where it had come from, or who. The band is made up of three childhood friends: Lewis Rainsbury, Alex Bailey and Matt Law. Over the past couple of years the trio have developed their sound from those tentative first steps of Sauna into something that sounds excitingly bold and intuitive on Seabed. Carefully growing their live show has certainly helped — lending a satisfying groove and looseness to much of the new material.

    hiss golden messenger / haw (paradise of bachelors, 2013)

    ▼ download

    @2c481sk5:

    Haw, herein, is an album of eleven songs about family, faith, and an ill-prophesied future, an artifact almost as archaic, lovely and seldom heard today as directional commands for beasts of burden. M.C. Taylor, who wrote these songs, once lived hard by the Haw with his wife Abigail and their son Elijah—Well I come from the bottom of the river Haw, he sings—but he doesn’t live there anymore. Having followed the slipstream to the relative bustle of nearby Durham, North Carolina, he has composed a new clutch of tunes that conjure the half-remembered dreams of peace promised by our pasts.
