ya hombre ya, tampoco pretendo ser riguroso ni sentar cátedra cuando pongo el estilo. leí lo del sunshine pop en alguna crítica al disco y me hizo gracia. además editan los propios woods en su sello así que con eso uno ya se puede hacer a la idea de por donde van los tiros. la verdad es que me sorprende que comentes algo cuando aquí por lo general la penya ya solo se pasa a saquear. se agradece, marni.

Alvvays are two women, three men, a crate of C-86 tapes and a love of jingle-jangle.
Molly Rankin and Kerri MacLellan grew up as next-door neighbours in Cape Breton, lifting fiddles and folk-songs. Heartbreaks of different shades soon entered their lives, as did the music of Teenage Fanclub and Belle & Sebastian. Similar noisy melancholy drifted over to Prince Edward Island, finding Alec O'Hanley, Brian Murphy and Philip MacIsaac.
Convening in Toronto, the group have been making music since dusk or maybe dawn, when stars were appearing or fading off. As a result, their debut self-titled album is both sun-splashed and twilit – nine songs concealing drunkenness, defeat and death in tungsten-tinted pop that glitters like sea glass.
With needlepoint melody and verse, Rankin and O'Hanley's songs were recorded at Chad VanGaalen's Yoko Eno studio and mixed by Graham Walsh (Holy Fuck) and John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., Kurt Vile).

por cierto, ahora que leo lo del estudio de Chad VanGaalen: él también ha sacado un discazo, aunque parece que no le han hecho mucho caso. a mí es de lo que más me ha gustado este año.

lo suponía, pero pudo el ansia.
el disco cumple de sobra con las expectativas. aunque no sea una revolución musical, hay mas chicha y es mucho mas variado que "black up".

Celebrated California singer songwriter Jenny Lewis returns with The Voyager on July 29th. This is the former Rilo Kiley frontwoman’s third solo album and first in six years, following 2006′s Rabbit Fur Coat (with The Watson Twins) and 2008′s Acid Tongue.
The Voyager is Lewis’s most deeply personal album to date, documenting her struggle to cope following the death of her estranged father in 2010 and the subsequent break-up of Rilo Kiley. The Voyager’s rootsy, golden glow comes courtesy of Lewis and the artists she chose to produce various tracks, including Ryan Adams (who, alongside Mike Viola, produced all but three of the tracks), Beck, and Lewis' longtime collaborator Johnathan Rice. The Voyager finds the always relatable songwriter at her sharp-witted best, singing about her recent experiences with honesty and incisiveness.
