_ew York City’s The Affair pounces onto the scene with their debut album Yes Yes To You. Since Kali Holloway (vocals, lyrics), Nelson Dellamaggiore (bass), Neel Arant (keyboards/guitar), Josh Leeman (lead guitar) and Marc Pattini (drums) first stepped on a stage together, the band has garnered respect and praise in both local and European music journals.
The Affair caught the attention of Vice Records, which in July 2004 released their first single, Honey, a song which showcased their ability to meld proto-punk and new wave allegiances with keen pop sensibilities. After a couple of years spent trolling through NY nightclubs, the band reappeared earlier in 2006 with a new single, Andy, on UK buzz label Marquis Cha Cha. Absolutely Kosher signed the band after chasing them around Austin at this year’s SXSW.
Lately, the streets of rock and roll seem cluttered with matching mod dresses filled with Swedes and Brits with their hair in bangs and Phil Spector in their lockets. The Affair tear through them like a flame. There might be girl groups in their rearview mirrors, but there are knives in their hands and lightning in their eyes. Faux finishing school poses and demure, wistful cooing have been demolished by soulful defiance. The “my boyfriend’s back and there’s going to be trouble” of yesteryear has been appended with “because I’m going to kick his ass for leaving.” Kali’s voice is bruised and angry but triumphant on Dead Letters, playful and sassy on Jailbait Date and positively flawless on Left At The Party. Her own lyricism is at once coy with a wink, but full of piss and vinegar. There’s not a vocal turn on the record where she doesn’t deliver. "Happy endings never interested me," she wails on Swallow the Nights. If early press is any indication, the world might not abide her.
With a swagger in their sound that could only come from the five boroughs, the band channels bits of New York acts like the Shangri-La's, The Ronettes, and Blondie. Throw in dashes of the Cars and the Runaways and distill them in gin and thorns, it give them a distinctly modern voice. The Affair personifies their very name, at once dangerous, timeless, immoral and ecstatic, illicit and sultry, conflicted and pure. This is one Affair in which you won't mind getting caught._

Low - Drums and Guns (2007)
hxxp://www.sendspace.com/file/ou9584 ```orhxxp://www.sendspace.com/file/j1inh8
[The vocals are isolated to one side of the mix. I don't know if this will be the final product or not. A different sound for Low. A little "Kid A" feeling after listening to the first few songs.](1t4kzaus) [(not sure if this is the final mix or not)](1t4kzaus) _Drums And Guns, Low's eighth full-length, is set for release on March 20 through Sub Pop. Dave Fridmann (Weezer, Flaming Lips, Sleater-Kinney), who produced 2005's The Great Destroyer, was back at the boards for the new production. Sparhawk and drummer Mimi Parker were joined in studio by the group's latest addition, bassist of about a year Matt Livingston._ _Drums and Guns features a number of songs that ardent Low fans will recognize from the band's recent live shows. These songs appear here in substantially altered forms, as though they've been taken apart and reassembled in striking new ways, or seen with new eyes. Or, given the lyrical emphasis on murder and death, a more insightful interpretation might see the band killing these songs and bringing them back to life anew. There's no contrivance here, however. While these songs feature new elements (looped vocals, drum machines, etc.) and are thoroughly, radiantly contemporary, they remain undeniably Low's. Drums and Guns possesses the unique, subtle beauty and power we've come to expect from Low, but the record is also profoundly exciting in ways that it's easy to forget music can Here is the track list for Drums And Guns: "Pretty People" "Belarus" "Breaker" "Dragonfly" "Sandinista" "Always Fade" "Dust on the Window" "Hatchet" "Your Poison" "Take Your Time" "In Silence" "Murderer" "Violent Past"_ -
Viva la madre que te pario Harry!
El mejor regalito de navidad que me podrías haber hecho, el nuevo de Low! te amo locamenti!

Warm In The Wake - Gold Dust Trail EP(2007)
hxxp://www.mediafire.com/?3mndmteyyud_Warm In The Wake describe their music as simple American songs that have been gently thrown into the space rock realm. Their Livewire Recordings debut “Gold Dust Trail,” with tracks produced by Adam Lasus (Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Yo La Tengo, Helium), is a fine mix of verses and audio flashcards, character sketches, rough-hewn acoustic ballads, and bent rhymes.
Playing together on and off since they were teenagers, Warm In The Wake’s Christopher Rowell (vocals, guitar, bass) and James Taylor Jr. (drums) come from a rich musical past in Birmingham, AL. Rowell performed and recorded with Regia and members of Verbena, while Taylor played with future members of The Drive By Truckers. Brothers Daniel Barker (keyboards) and Andy Barker (bass) hail from Ft. Payne, AL (also home to country’s ALABAMA) and have shared stages with Kings of Leon and Willie Nelson.
In 1997 Chris Rowell moved to Atlanta and became a founding member of King Lear Jet. Later joined by Taylor and Barker, KLJ released an E.P., an L.P. and enjoyed a modicum of success with songs licensed to several Fox TV shows (Felicity, Dawson’s Creek), a couple of PBS shows and the independent film “Tadpole.” However, the music took the boys in another direction- one that convinced them to pursue their new incarnation as Warm In The Wake. Rowell had a personal epiphany and realized the importance of Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Brian Eno and a few other super heroes- not only for their art but for their “craft” as well. Rowell and Taylor began to comprehend that writing a simple song and then making it “magical” in a way that goes beyond just strumming the guitar was the path to their musical future.
“Gold Dust Trail” is a beautiful launch for this band’s excursion. From the Wilco-esque intro of “Tame Thoughts” to the feel-good Southern swing of “Hearts vs. Heads,” the music is immediately familiar, yet unquestionably the band’s own. Warm In The Wake envelops the listener in waves of sonic pleasure.
PS.- We grew up in the south. Along the way we have played music for many good people. We have also met Catahoula leopard hounds, cypress knees, molten iron, old Brooklyn firehouses, the people of Leicester (pronounced Lester in western N.C.), the third tier of the Channel 6 TV tower, fine Italian wedding cookies, a rude musical hero, an inquisitive cottonmouth, a strong god of the Forge, a brilliant musical stranger, a doomed entrepreneur, M.Ward, a Pez dispenser owned by the Cox-Arquettes, a stubborn friend, a red slot canyon, a nearly frozen Hellbender, a doubtful DNR representative, a guitar with character, a vengeful neighbor, a smiling dog, the caverns of Pilsen, the saddest of all counties, a gritty scuppernong, a satisfied Barracuda, Charles Simic, the underside of a train, a registered liar, the perfect Old Fashioned, the Twin falls._
