Después de dos discos que no presté atención porque me parecian muy malos, la verdad es que me esta gustando bastante. Aun asi, dudo mucho que les vea en el primavera....

Ahora estamos con que es muy bueno, en una semana saldrán los que digan que es el peor…Yo estoy más con Marniello, ni tanto ni tan poco: lo que creo es que han ido yendo a peor desde Unidad de desplazamiento, sin hacer discos malos pero bajando el listón poco a poco, y ciertamente tocando fondo con el (ahora) penúltimo. Era difícil, sobre todo después de casi tres años, que lo hicieran peor y por las veces que lo he escuchado diría que es un disco tan arriesgado como contundente, donde se reafirman y tiran por un camino determinado alejándose de las medias tintas del anterior. A mí ahora me gusta, veré con el tiempo si más o menos, todavía no lo tengo digerido, pero vaya, Los Planetas remontan el vuelo.

Contributors include Janet Weiss (Sleater Kinney, Quasi), Joe Plummer (Modest Mouse, Black Heart Procession, Magic Magicians), Danny Seim (Lack Thereof, Menomena), and Solon Bixler (Great Northern). Mixed by Brian Deck (Iron And Wine, Modest Mouse) and held together by Fairchild's spare and decisive sounds and a resistance to over-embellish.

Me gusta porque encima entre tanta filtración uno ya no sabe por donde empezar, he de decir que leer tantas colaboraciones ha influenciado en mi elección... voy a indagar un poco más sobre él...

If Animal Collective were forced to experiment less, take tranquilizers, and allow a cowboy to join their band, they might sound a bit like Seabear. Animal Collective comparisons don’t come cheap around here, and this one is well deserved. Like so many other great artists these days, Seabear hails from Iceland. If artists like Bjork and Sigur Ros are a little too dense for you, don’t worry; Seabear’s sound is considerably warmer than either of those two bands. Seabear specializes in a certain mellow style of experimental-pop, with clear vocals and soft beats.

Elvis perkins has a legitimate claim to the melancholy-singer-songwriter thing: His father, the actor Anthony Perkins, died of AIDS when Elvis was seventeen, and his mother was killed on one of the planes on September 11th, 2001. Perkins alludes to his past obliquely, but it's hard to avoid – for one, the album title appears to refer to the day after 9/11. "While You Were Sleeping" has a trancelike feel and chilling lyrics ("I made a death suit for life/For my father's ill- widowed wife"). Most tracks stick to a downbeat, acoustic-folk template, although "May Day!" sounds like a lost Neutral Milk Hotel hoedown. On the standout "Emile's Vietnam in the Sky," which mixes French dialogue with fiddle and accordion accents, Perkins asks, "Do you ever wonder where you go when you die?" He has.

"El trío californiano Thee More Shallows vuelve a la carga después de la publicación en 2002 del excelente A History of Sport Fishing, y del más reciente, y también muy bueno, More Deep Cuts (2005).
En cuanto al nuevo trabajo (verá la luz, legalmente, el 24 de abril), decir que Thee More Shallows estrena sello. ¿Alguna alternativa?Al parecer el problema está en Senspace, que lleva unos días con dificultades técnicas… Hace 30 minutos iba bien, aunque ayer no, y ahora de nuevo tampoco.

El problema de sendspace siempre es probable, si no es una cosa es otra. Pero si las soluciones conocidas tampoco funcionan, pues mal asunto.

We've been waiting impatiently for St. Vincent to drop her first LP for well over a year now, having fallen in love with what this review calls her "beautiful, playful, smart, intense jazz-folk-pop-classical hybrid thing" sometime back in 2005. In the time that's passed, we allowed our expectations for the record to reach some ridiculous astronomical heights, based mostly on her spectacular live show, the handful of rough early studio recordings we listen to on a daily basis, and most importantly, the notion that Annie Clark is basically capable of doing whatever she wants.
Put simply, Marry Me is even better than we had hoped. The LP, which features contributions from David Bowie pianist Mike Garson and assorted members of Annie's other band, is not only one of the most strikingly bold, self-assured, and ambitious debuts we've heard in forever, it's also one of the best records that will be released this year. And while it's definitely important to note Clark's obvious technical prowess and gift for crafting stunning, elaborately-arranged pop songs like "Marry Me" or "The Apocalypse Song" or the incomparable "Landmines" (wow), those aren't necessarily the things that make Marry Me so wonderful. The time Annie put into fashioning every moment of every composition into exactly what she envisioned is evident, and nearly every risk she takes on Marry Me pays off, giving the songs the kind of timeless feel that allows the album to transcend the "outstanding indie record" tag and venture into "unclassifiable instant classic" territory.

El que también me está enganchando es el de All smiles, modesto pero agradable, desde luego me gusta más que el último de Grandaddy.
Al de Astrud alguien le ha echado el guante? merece la pena?
