@galleta:5yl1jqg1:

@30segundossobreTokyo:2nlsks3g:

**Wire - Read & Burn 03 EP
@3mf86cyg:
Read & Burn 03 is the first in their series of EPs since the second installment dropped in late 2002. And, unlike past Read & Burns, we're assured that this material isn't going to wind up on the next Wire LP (as was the case on 2003's Send). Didja hear that? There's gonna be another Wire album in the foreseeable future! Not to mention they've gotta do seven more EPs to justify having that 0 in there holding the place for double digits. Wooo 2037!

si cierras los ojos bien fuerte, te concentras y repites mentalmente 'bosque mágico' cinco veces, comienzan a darse un aire, no te creas.

GIUSEPPE IELASI - AUGUST (12K Records, 2007)
@sty689ul:
12k presents the latest solo work from Italian composer Giuseppe Ielasi. August is the 4th full-length cd from Ielasi following his critically acclaimed debut Plans (Sedimental, 2003) and the stunning Gesine and s/t (Häpna, 2005, 2006).
August takes a more linear approach to Ielasi’s composing with sounds stretched like like layers of gauze forming a thick, soft blanket. Utilizing piano, hammond organ, guitars, dobro, synthesizers and shortwave radio, Ielasi creates deep, warm drones and suspended, scratchy melodies with a hint of despair and melancholy that make this a very introspective album. His trademark guitar and live approach to instrumentation are in the forefront yet set behind an expertly processed veil of subtle electronics. The textures are unabashedly acoustic but buried and moody enough as to question their origin.
August is a haunting, but beautiful album that falls neatly between the starkness of Gesine and the scattering rhythmic complexity of s/t. LIke music for a farewell, an ending of ends, August is moody, static, slow and emotional.

Jefre Cantu-Ledesma - 'The Phantom Harp' 3" CD (Root Strata, 2007)**@sty689ul:
Recorded at Sun Place this summer on a borrowed autoharp with electronics. One 20min track of metallic architecture, as seen with x-ray eyes. This is music for airports on the moons of Jupiter. Each comes in a folder paper sleeve.

Jackie-O Motherfucker - Valley of Fire [Textile 2007]**@sty689ul:
The first JOMF studio release since the critically acclaimed 2005 CD, Flags Of The Sacred Harp. Produced by Adam Forkner, Valley Of Fire contains three brand new finely crafted songs and a 20 minute classic psychedelic dirt road journey. The record represents two equally fascinating aspects of JOMF, songwriting and musical arrangement. Over the years JOMF have spent equal time writing and arranging classic American folk and blues and long, freeform compositions, drawing comparisons to 1960s and 70s ensembles like Ash Ra Temple, Amon Duul, AMM, Faust, Can and The Art Ensemble Of Chicago, while at the same time developing a song crafting style passed down through generations. Valley Of Fire picks up the trail of Flags Of The Sacred Harp and wanders down a similar path, adding elements of Krautrock and classic west coast American production to create an incredible, original album. The cover of Valley Of Fire is an original watercolour Painting by American artist Jo Jackson, who creates mystical paintings and shows her work around the world.

Tim Hecker - Norberg, Sweden
@sty689ul:
Recorded at the Norberg Festival (Sweden) amidst the mineshafts and cluttered buildings strewn throughout parts the city, this 21 minute live piece summarises much of what makes Tim Hecker’s music so vital and compelling.
Adept at counter-pointing the most ferocious of distorted platters with smooth beds of ambient sound and potent melodic overtones, Tim Hecker creates music with a vast depth. On Norberg, this depth seems almost endless, as layer upon layer of sound are compiled into a swelling and all together visceral oceanic sound wave.
Recently touring Australia and New Zealand and performing at ROOM40’S annual festival Open Frame, this CD comes on the back of some incredible live performances in the Southern Hemisphere.

Last Days- These Places are Now Ruins (n5md, 2007)** @sty689ul: > The field recordings throughout gives "These Places…" an earthly feel, a sense of openness, if you will. "Reasons to Go" features gorgeous guitar picking that gives an air of serenity. But this is contrasted by the chaotic sounds of the night around Richardson's hometown of Edinburgh. You can almost picture Richardson, sitting at his window, plucking his guitar as the busy nightlife of Scotland's capital unfolds in front of him. > > On tracks such as "The Whole Town Is Against Us", Richardson guides us into contemplating our own past. Amidst the degraded ambiance, muffled distortion and Sigur Ros' style percussion, the listener will find themselves questioning their own choices. Did I say the right words?, did I do the right thing?, have I chosen the correct paths. These are questions that crop up during periods of uncertainty, after all just about every person has at least one regret. "Two Halves of a Line" works in a similar manner, the optimistic guitar awakens a fleeting sense of euphoria, but the broken computer-board static sounds ensure that we are aware that things are not always as they seem. > > As an album notable for its poignancy, the most gorgeous moment occurs precisely one minute and forty five seconds into "Look After Yourself". Surrounded by a revolving guitar refrain and mournful orchestration, Richardson unleashes beautiful glockenspiel chimes that free an intense amount of tension. It provides the sort of release that many bands aim for, but will never achieve. > > In the end, as the plaintive "Traveling Heart" draws to a close, what we are left with is the perfect sequel to "Sea". A release where Deaf Center's cinematic qualities are channeled through Jasper TX's lo-fi sensibility. "These Place Are Now Ruins" is simply an enthralling piece of work. It portrays Graham Richardson as an honest artist, unafraid to express his innermost feelings on life. His delicate compositions, at times, seem on the verge of collapse, but just like life itself there are flickers of hope peppered throughout. And as many a philosopher will tell you, hope is important.http://www.mediafire.com/?c11h1yiknzj
