  • Mobiil - Fondre Sur Les Hyènes

    @j2rhmpjl:

    Sensaciones agridulces rebotan contra un telón oscuro que solo se abrirá cuando descansen. Dos hombres, armados con cajas de ritmos, sonidos minimalistas, rezos y voces inquietantes, seguirán luchando sin cerrar los ojos ni un solo segundo. Por ello, se enfundan el disfraz de justicieros electrónicos y se preparan para el ataque más bello. Bombardeo inminente.

    Unos chillan. Otros lloran. Protestar, todos protestamos. ¿Cuál será el secreto? Olivier Mellano y Gaël Desbois diseñaron su estrategia basándose en conceptos inteligentes y pacíficos. Con picos de intensidad y palas en mente, buscan enterrar los males sociales bajo toneladas de estética. Pero primero, apuñalan la realidad directamente ahí donde más duele. En pleno corazón, resaltando así todos los detalles con los que ya nos hemos acostumbrado a vivir.

    Románticamente, denuncian, protestan convirtiendo el odio en ambiguas alucinaciones. La lucha empieza desde el minuto 0 con el magnífico ‘Arroser La Colère’ que despierta rebeldías, indisciplinas y esas desobediencias tan necesarias para frenar las carrerillas diabólicas. La muerte hecha polvo y descrita como un poema aparece en ‘Des Chants’, himno a la defunción casi capaz de atraernos hacia ese estado físico único e inevitable.

    ¿Es la paz posible? A priori no. Ellos lo saben, pero tenían que intentarlo. Esa frase, “You Can Dream My Son” se repite hasta el infinito en ‘Est-ce Qu’un Jour On Les Aura?’ y deja claro que seguiremos compartiendo tiempo y espacio con los sólidos desequilibrios. Mientras escuchamos atentamente mensajes recitados como en ‘Fragilité’ o ‘L’Art De Tuer La Mort’, siempre podremos soñar despiertos con horizontes menos pesimistas.

  • @Breed:y8b6m0dx:

    el disco del tirón se haga bola (lo mejor es dosificarlo y escucharlo con calma, como debe ser).

    Pues será eso porque a mí se me hizo un poco pesado y descafeinado.

    Vamos a ver qué tal los samples de Daft Punk, hace pinta de ser un disco curioso.

  • **Harmonia - Live 1974 [Grönland Records 2007]
    **

    Reedición de un directo de Harmonia, supergrupo de krautrock, formado por integrantes de Neu, Cluster y en discos posteriores Brian Eno… una joya perdida que han recuperado en el sello Grönland, muy buen documento de un grupo-estilo que fue manual de muchos y estilos posteriores.

    Temas:
    1 Schaumberg 10:45
    2 Veteranissimo 17:25
    3 Arabesque 5:20.
    4 Holta-Polta 15:00
    5 Ueber Ottenstein 9:30

  • buenísimos. Los descubrí en una pinchada

  • ahora mismo estoy oyendo el de Harmonia y recuerdo los días cuando en los mentideros se decia, por activa y por pasiva, que el post rock era algo así como la modernización o puesta al día del kraut. Hay que ver como ha ido evolucionando la cosa hasta ahora mismo.

    Por cierto, el disco, de puta madre.

  • Karate–595 (2007)

    @3fuf87yr:

    In Karate's decade of performing and recording they refined their sound to a streamlined rock hybrid that was hard to pin down, and they slowly but surely forged a unique sonic identity that was all their own. The band's beginnings in the early-90's Boston indie scene, their love for improvised music and classic rock, and their adherence to the DIY punk ethos of their youth made them freaks in any scene, defying classification with their strange fusion of punk, blues, jazz and rock. 595 shows after Karate first stepped on stage together, Geoff Farina, Jeff Goddard and Gavin McCarthy sadly ended their 12-year run in the summer of 2005.

  • Steven R. Smith - Owl [Digitalis 2007]

    @1r98p9al:

    Steven R. Smith's name has become more commonplace over the last half-decade, and that's a very good thing. From his monumental works as Hala Strana to being a prominent contributor to many Jewelled Antler projects, his sound is distinct.

    This is the first brand new solo album from Steven R. Smith since last year's epic "The Anchorite." Few artists can boast the impressive discography Smith does, full of far more hits than misses. And with "Owl," he shows that he's still got new tricks up his sleeve. On here, you'll find some of the things you expect with a new Steven R. Smith record: sprase, angular walls of his trademark guitar playing with embellishments from an array of acoustic instrumention. But there's a new twist here: vocals. Yep, vocals. Smith unleashes his voice on "Owl" and does so in such an impressive fashion that it leaves me asking what took so long?

    "Owl" is full of desolate, but hopeful aural landscapes. There's a tinge of regret and longing in his voice when he belts out the words, "This is the world we know…" And in those six words, Smith sums up what "Owl" brings to the table. There is something recognizable about this terrain; the paint is just worn down enough to expose the raw wood underneath. But carefully placed in each corner, in each nook is something new that breathes new life into the familiar.

    This is a bold step for someone who has already accomplished a great deal, and leaves us listeners without a clue as to what will happen next. This is magic, indeed.

    Sarin Smoke - It Chars Our Lips Yet Still We Drink [Wholly Other 2007]

    @1r98p9al:

    The second ever Wholly Other vinyl outing is a duo of Peter Swanson (D. Yellow Swans) and Tom Carter (Charalambides etcetera). Despite the noisy pedigree of Mr. Swanson, and the latter day scrape of TC's Horton collaborations, this is a deceptively serene collection of electric guitar trance-outs, gently building to a spiders-down-the shirt climax full of hiss and slithering menace. Eye-popping silkscreened crypto mandala art by Liz Harris (Grouper) on the blank side, on clear vinyl so you can stare while it spins (and you'll want to)… packaged in a heavy clear sleeve.

    Gregg Kowalsky - Tendrils In Vigne [Root Strata, 2007]

    @1r98p9al:

    'Tendrils In Vigne' is Gregg Kowalsky's Mills Collage graduate thesis project, a down right gorgeous slow burner of all acoustic instruments. Originally composed for laptop, Gregg transcribed and scored his music for an ensemble of 25 people that includes everything from a string section to a Shakuhachi player. Microcosmic loops expand into complex forms of geometry featuring voices and exploding drum kits.
    Mesmerizing.

    y además:

    Santa Maria - Santa Maria [Slottet, 2007]

    @gqgz8bj6:

    Maria Eriksson is Santa Maria. She is mostly known as guitar player, singer and songwriter in the Swedish popconstellations The Concretes and Heikki. Even though the forthcoming Santa Maria album is crammed with brilliant pop songs, the musical content is not very related to the pop music of The Concretes. Santa Maria is significantly more multi-faceted; she mixes intricate singer/songwriter-tunes with deeply progressive pieces, intelligent and distinctive dance anthems with stunningly beautiful tracks.

    The musicians involved in Santa Maria are some of the most creative and sharp Sweden has to offer. Bass player, as well as the producer of the album, is Johan Berthling. Besides being a member of the internationally acclaimed electronica-act Tape, he also plays with artists like Nicolai Dunger, Tenniscoats and Bill Wells. On guitar, keyboard and vocals we find the frontman of Laakso, Markus Krunegård. And on drums another member of Laakso, Lars Skoglund. He also plays with Moneybrother - and is rightfully considered to be the greatest talent of the new generation. Also featured on the album are guest performers like: The Tiny-members Ellekari Larsson (vocals) and Leo Svensson (vocals), Anna Maria Espinosa (vocals), Sara Wilson (vocals) and Eric Malmberg of Sagor & Swing fame (organ).

    VARIOS - BSO "VIAJE A DARJEELING"

    JOHNNY GREENWOOD - BSO "POZOS DE AMBICIÓN"

    THE HEAVY - "GREAT VENGEANCE AND FURIOUS FIRE"

    http://sharebee.com/abe7153f

    The Heavy es como mezclar Stooges y Curtis Mayfield, o desordenar los archivos de la Stax y de Elektra...pero no tan buenos, claro. Además, hay casi plagios (Spencer Davis, Rolling Stones,...incluso el riff del single del último cd de Muse!), pero son divertidos. Estuvieron en Les Transmusicales de Rennes, y estaran en el SXSW 2008 (y deberian estar en el Azkena Rock...si es que el festival no muere, que andaba malito ya este último año)
