Date: 12/27/2005 11:19 amAfter years of being indirectly involved with Hip-Hop music, actor/pop singer Patrick Swayze is finally experimenting with rap music.
Swayze recently said he was experimenting with “rap rhythms as an emotional undercurrent for ballads.”
The 53-year-old Swayze had a massive hit with the song “She’s Like The Wind” from the soundtrack to the film "Dirty Dancing" in 1987.
The song is one of the most played songs in the history of radio and helped the Dirty Dancing soundtrack sell over 11 million records.
Hip-Hop fans are familiar with Swayze, who has starred in such classic movies as “Red Dawn,” “Roadhouse,” “The Outsiders” and “Ghost.”
Swayze’s last name has been used as Hip-Hop slang since the early 1990’s, when EPMD popularized the term on various albums.
In U.S. rap vernacular, the term "Swayze" means to “leave” or “disappear,” cleverly derived from the title of his 1990 hit film “Ghost.”
Swayze resurfaced in the rap world again in 2002, when he starred as an aggressive FBI agent named “Detective Fitzgerald” in Ja Rule’s video “Reign,” taken from Ja’s The Last Temptation album.
The controversial video came during an actual federal investigation of The Inc.’s Irv and Chris Lorenzo for money laundering, charges the brothers were eventually acquitted of.
Swayze, who has a role in the new flick “Keeping Mum,” did not peg a release date on his new material.
Swazye is currently filming “Fox and The Hound II.”

The Wedding Present preparan ya lo que será este nuevo año. La banda publicará a lo largo de este año un DVD en vivo y se encuentra en negociaciones con el sello Sanctuary Records para editar un recopilatorio con sus apariciones en las Peel Sessions.
David Gedge y compañían afrontan una nueva gira norteamericana en la que por motivos personales no estará Simon Cleave, quien será sustituido por el hasta ahora ingeniero de sonido Chris McConville. La banda planea nuevas fechas en Europa en mayo y junio de este mismo año..

Current 93 announce Sleep Has His House reissue, concert in France
Sleep Has His House will be available soon from Durtro once the shop reopens. A limited CD double pack reissue includes the LP version (which includes alternate mixes of the songs). A Current 93 concert is also scheduled for April 9th in Nantes, France. In additional news, David Tibet has opened a Myspace page and has music for download there. And finally, a tracklist and cover has been posted for the compilation Not Alone, which is now accepting pre-orders.

Nuevo disco de Centro-Matic, "Fort Recovery", a publicar el próximo 7 de marzo. Además,gira de Will Johnson junto a Vic Chesnutt, Mark Eitzel y Dave Bazan. Una fiesta con algunos de los mejores compositores de EEUU, compartiendo escenario y canciones. De momento solo hay fechas en EUA.

Mi amor por Will Johnson no para de crecer a cada nuevo disco suyo que escucho, ya sea firmado por él mismo, por Centro-Matic o South San Gabriel. Además, tiene pinta de ser un pavo cojonudo. Por lo menos así lo parecia en una entrevista que le leí en la RDL. A ver si se pasa por el PS con alguno de sus proyectos. Seguro que la organización le tiene en mente.
Respecto a Korkobado, el chico tiene bastante tendencia a aparecer y desaparecer del foro como si nada. No debería, porque siempre es un placer leerle. -

la verdad ya perdi la esperanza de ver a Centro-Matic por aqui, ahora es mas posible, dado la relativa repercusion que han tenido con South San Gabriel.
Esperemos que sea para primeros de Junio cuando pasen por España, asi podre verles en el PS.

Casi me averguenzo de no haber escuchado a Centro-Matic hasta hace muy pocos dias. La verdad es que lo tienen todo para gustarme. Ahora mismo estoy con el South San Gabriel Songs. Hay un tema, With Broken Hands, que es tremendo. En fin, gracias a los que hablasteis del grupo hace tiempo, por fin os he hecho caso.
