No se si alguien lo ha comentado, pero por si acaso….
PERE UBU estarán en Europa esta próxima primavera de gira.
Ejem ejem ejem....la la la la la...cof cof cof...naraniaro naraniaro (silbidos de despiste, por favor)Has escuchado el último disco (Why I Hate Women)? A mi se me hace bastante árido, si me lo como del tirón acabo casi mareado con tanto Theremin y efectos raros, y la voz de Thomas tan enferma como siempre. He buscado varias críticas del disco por Internet y a sus autores se les ve bastante desconcertados. No porque sea muy diferente a lo que Pere Ubu han hecho anteriormente, simplemente porque se hace harto complicado describir el album.
Con todo, el PS debe fichar a Pere Ubu a la mínima posibilidad que se presente. Ya pensaba que estarian el año pasado porque tambien estaban de gira por el continente por esas fechas.

De todas formas Pere Ubu sería impresionante de ver.
Todavía recuerdo habermelo perdido en el mismísimo Primavera.

Pues mira…la verdad es que ni tenia noticias del disco ese (despiste imperdonable, vive dios). Ya le he dado un piolet para que inicie el descenso.
¿Traerlos al PS? naraniano...tralara...ejem ejem....xiu xiu.....estoooooooo. Quizás no salga a cuenta por la cantidad de cervezas que se pimpla el sr. Thomas, como se vio en su ya antológica visita con los Two Pale Boys. Pero si es por eso, estoy seguro que podemos abrir una suscripción popular. Empiezo yo con 20 euros.

Former Social Distortion bassist Brent Liles has been killed in a bicycle accident on southern California's Orange Freeway, authorities confirm.
The 43-year-old was struck by a truck on Thursday as he rode his bicycle across the freeway in Placentia, California, reports MTV.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and an investigation into the accident is ongoing.
Liles was a member of influential punk rock band Social Distortion from 1981 to 1984, and he later played with various other bands including Agent Orange.

Otro grande que nos deja. Social Distortion y la otra banda por donde pasó Agent Orange (ayer hablábamos de ellos) son grandes grupos, sobretodo los primeros.
Ostia todavía recuerdo cuando en febrero del 2000 murió Dennis Danell el bajista que estaba en los últimos discos del grupo.¡Mierda!

Caustic Visions I saw Disco D perform at Sonar 2006 in Barcelona. He had the balls to do his DJ set on the MPC and explained he would swap back to the vinyl if it went wrong. He was the first to do this at Sonar. He had a great deal of courage to try this out on such a big crowd at a massive venue and it sounded great!
David "Disco D" Shayman (27) commited suicide a year after producing "Popozao"
It has been revealed that music producer Disco D - real name David Shayman - committed suicide on Tuesday. Disco D was found dead inside his New York home. He was 27.
The hip-hop mixer, whose music was heard on ads for Sprite and Best Buy, had previously worked with rapper 50 Cent on his "The Massacre album" and on the track "Ski Mask Way." The two collaborated together after some of D's mixes landed in the hands of G-Unit's Sha Money XL, who eventually showed the CD to Fiddy.
Other artists he worked with included Trick Daddy and Nina Sky. He also produced K-Fed's flopped song, "Popozao" and listened to various artists.
On his mySpace website, he once wrote, "Before Disco D was even born, I was a fan of all types of different stuff, from The Beatles and Donna Summer to Charlie Parker and John Coltrane to N.W.A. and 2 Live Crew to Pantera, Primus and GWAR. I didn't have any sort of preconceptions about genres, I just was into what impacted me emotionally."
It has been reported that the 27-year-old suffered from depression and had been diagnosed as bi-polar.
Prior to his death, he was working on music for videogames and had a remix for Shiny Toy Guns in the works.

Touch And Go editará "Living With The Living", el nuevo disco de la banda, el próximo mes de marzo.TEXTO: Guillermo de la Madrid 25/01/2007El que será el quinto álbum de Ted Leo And The Pharmacists llevará por título "Living With The Living" y verá la luz a través de Touch & Go el próximo 20 de marzo. Los de Leo han contado para la grabación de su primer álbum para el sello de Chicago con Brendan Canty (Fugazi) como productor.

Buenísima idea de (de Merge Records) que ahora Subpop hace suya. Con todos sus vinilos vendrá una url y un código para poder bajarse los mp3's con las canciopnes de ese disco en alta calidad. No resolverá la bajada de ventas pero sí ayudará a fidelizar a los compradores de vinilo que también nos gusta llevarnos la musica en nuestros i-loquesea.

We have recently decided to steal the very good idea of some other fine record labels and begin offering free mp3 downloads of albums purchased on vinyl. Actually, we decided to steal this idea a long time ago, but we are evidently very slow and are only now doing so. When we first heard that the clever folks at Merge Records (what? a year or so ago?) were doing this, we were immediately struck with what a great idea it is. And so, starting with The Shins' Wincing the Night Away, we will be doing the same!
Here's the deal:
Starting with our first release in 2007 (the aforementioned Shins record) and continuing on until such time as we lose interest or forget, if/when you buy a Sub Pop release in the vinyl format, you will find a coupon enclosed. And on this coupon will be instructions, a url and a unique code for you to download the mp3s for the album you've purchased.
Pretty simple.
The idea here is that people who buy records on vinyl should be afforded the same access to the digital files as those who buy records on CD, without having to consult some audiophile/computer expert/person working at Radio Shack. Those people sometimes have really bad attitudes.Please note that these coupons, and their associated access to free mp3s, will not magically (or otherwise) appear in albums released before January of 2007._
