golpe bajo: las music stores FOPP en la cuerda floja… el otro día dandole la brasa a un colega que se va a UK con que comprara en esta cadena porque acostumbran a tener buenos precios ademas de librillos de musica version paperback, etc... y ahora veo esto:

En otra parte he leido que no todo está perdido y que no cierran del todo o no sé qué… veremos... sí ya sé que juntamente con HMV y Virgin se repartían el gran pastel, pero estos siempre me han caido mejor... escoceses de glasgow... y de entre todas las tiendas que tienen por ahí, la del puente de Camden Town o la de la colina del royal mile de edinburgh tenían su qué...
a otra cosa... yo que había vuelto pensando que ya habían estrenado la peli de Anton Corbijn "Control" acerca de Ian Curtis y aun no... se estrenó en mayo en cannes y la semana pasada en el festival de edinburgh... pero por lo que parece tendremos que esperar a octubre...

Pues el concierto en Paredes muy bien, aunque debido a un retraso con el escenario pequeño, la mitad del concierto de solapó con el concierto de Spoon en el grande, y en 5 minutos pasaron de 1300 a 300 personas. De todos modos, fué toda una experiencia.

My Bloody Valentine for Coachella 2008?
My Bloody Valentine are rumoured to be reuniting for the Caochella Valley Music & Arts Festival next year.
It is understood that the organisers of the festival have been pursuing the band to play the festival for several years.
As previously reported Shields told Magnet magazine that he is "100 per cent" sure that the band are going to record again.
The group have been inactive since 1995, although rumours are rife that the band are working on a new album and a box set featuring unreleased material, originally due to be reelased on Creation back in 2000, just before the label shut down.
Coachella booker Paul Tollett delinced to comment on the reports.
However, the festival is known for luring dormant groups such as Rage Against The Machine and The Jesus And Mary Chain to the festival.
Shields' manager Vinita Joshi told Electric Roulette website that there were "no confirmed shows at all".

As you've all seen around the net, rumours are flying around about MBV playing Coachella in 2008 and a full world tour to follow. Kevin's manager has told me these are only rumours and gossip. Here is the original article. Kevin's manager can only confirm that Kevin is currently remastering their albums as well as the rest of the Creation Records back a catalog I would imagine because this has been rumoured lately as well.

Colin Mee, guitarrista de Deerhunter deja la banda. Esoy muy de acuerdo con lo que comenta. Os copio la noticia entera, extraida de Pitchfork:

The gloriously abnormal Deerhunter is now a foursome, following the departure of guitarist Colin Mee. This morning, reader Michael King, who attended a Deerhunter show in the nation's capital yesterday, sent us this:
So last night at the Black Cat in DC Deerhunter showed up minus guitarist Colin Mee. [Frontman] Bradford [Cox] played his Fender Jazzmaster through the whole set (except for "Dr. Glass"). His only mention of the missing Mee was that they were now a four piece and this was their first show as such (He mentioned this about four different times throughout the show offering no details or reason for the line-up change). I can't say the music suffered (the music was a bit different though) but Bradford's stage antics were all but gone because of his new guitar duties.
Indeed, Deerhunter's MySpace already indicated the change: "Deerhunter is now (as of 8/29/07) back to being a four-piece."
We got in touch with Mee regarding the situation. Here is what he had to say:
"What happened was that initially I told them that I couldn't play a couple of shows that we had booked next weekend in Portland and Seattle because it was too much of a strain on my schedule. It wasn't necessarily my intention to quit.
"Brad basically reacted by saying that if I did that I was giving up my position in the band, which is pretty much what I expected. I told them that I thought the last few shows we did were a little subpar and I figured they could still do the shows without me and get paid or whatever if it wasn't going to be good even if I was there. I just felt that we had booked too much stuff to support one album just because of the money that was being offered us and whatever networking opportunities went along with that, which I was never involved in.
"By the end of the year we would have toured with basically the same set six or seven times over a two year period, which I would have been fine with, but this particular few weeks was just too much for me considering my other time commitments.
"This sense of being overwhelmed was exacerbated by the fact that I felt we were receiving (and creating) too much press that had nothing to do with any new music being created. I don't want to be overexposed. I don't want the world to know what our excrement looks like or what we are selling on eBay or whether we got robbed. I think that it devalues the music and it is just a way to maintain attention when the music should just speak for itself.
"I understand that is not the way the media works but I found it disgraceful and sensationalistic. I felt misrepresented and that the band was being portrayed as opportunists. I was willing to tolerate it, however, but I am not going to put my life on hold for this."

No han cancelado ningún concierto, pero cómo dice en la noticia ahora Bradford Cox (cantante) toca la guitarra en todos los temas y ya no puede hacer tantas payasadas.

Led Zeppelin look set to reform for a gig at London's O2 Arena this autumn.Although there has been no official announcement that the legendary rockers will perform again 27 years after they disbanded, advertisements appeared in the national press today (September 1) with top-price ticket and hotel packages on offer for £369.
A cheaper package from the Premier Entertainments company, including a night in a four-star hotel, is available for £269, reports This Is London.
Callers today were told: "It's just about to be officially announced."
Promoters subsequently told BBC 6 Music not to book tickets "just yet", but did not deny the story.
The reunion has been rumoured all year, and suspicions were further aroused when it was revealed the band would release a 2-CD 'Best Of' compilation called 'Mothership' on November 11.
It's thought that original drummer John Bonham's son Jason would replace him on drums. The band originally split following John's death aged 32 in 1980 after choking on his own vomit following an alcohol binge.
The three surviving members - John Paul Jones, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page - briefly reunited at the Live Aid concert in Philadelphia in 1985 and at Atlantic Records' 40th birthday celebrations.

Por cierto, se rumorea que estarán en Castellón. Los Jonquis, claro.
