Ojala el Pete doherty este encerrado en prision el primer fin de semana de junio.

Qué coño, mejor que le encierren para un par de semanitas poco antes del Festival, para que dé tiempo a cubrir su baja con una contratación. Si no, menuda guarrada.

  • _Thurston Moore's Ecstatic Peace Inks With Universal

    Amy Phillips reports:
Well, this was a surprise. Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore has signed his record label, Ecstatic Peace, to a deal with the Universal Music Group. The towering alt-rock icon's imprint has been putting out limited-run releases by obscure artists since 1981, and now it has partnered with the biggest record company in the world.

Yoshimi, No Neck Blues Band, and Jackie-O Motherfucker, meet Ashlee Simpson, 50 Cent, and Jay-Z.

OK, Thurston, what's going on? "It's always been sort of a bedroom vanity label for me, releasing 500 copies of records," Moore told Pitchfork last week. "But through the years, I would keep getting demos from musicians that were really good and had such potential accessibility to go beyond the fringe that I was dealing with. A lot of these artists really wanted to be associated with Ecstatic Peace, and I was like, well, I pretty much do this out of my bedroom, and most of the stock sits in my basement."

"I have this desire to elevate it and put these records out that I think will do really well."

Certain Ecstatic Peace releases will now be distributed through Fontana, Universal's "indie" distribution company, which also handles labels like Absolutely Kosher, Star Time, and Vagrant. In addition, Moore will "sign and develop artists in joint venture with Universal Records proper," according to a press release.

"I'm being very cautious about this thing with Universal," Moore said. "I want to expose that aesthetic that exists in the underground to the mainstream without being presumptuous about it. (…)_

Ha muerto , Dana Reeve,la esposa de Christopher Reeve, (Aka Superman), a los 44 años debido a un cancer de pulmón...

_Dana Reeve, widow of Christopher Reeve, dies at 44
    Tuesday, March 7, 2006; Posted: 8:27 a.m. EST (13:27 GMT)

WHITE PLAINS, New York(AP) – Dana Reeve, who won worldwide admiration for her devotion to her "Superman" husband, Christopher Reeve, through his decade of near-total paralysis, has died of lung cancer at age 44.

Reeve, a singer-actress who gave up some of her own career to be one of the nation's best-known caregivers, died late Monday at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Medical Center, said Kathy Lewis, president of the Christopher Reeve Foundation, which both Reeves had chaired.

Dana Reeve wasn't a smoker but she announced in August that she had been diagnosed with lung cancer.

The couple had a 13-year-old son, Will, and Dana Reeve had two grown stepchildren, Matthew and Alexandra.

"On behalf of the entire board of directors and staff of the Christopher Reeve Foundation, we are extremely saddened by the death of Dana Reeve, whose grace and courage under the most difficult of circumstances was a source of comfort and inspiration to all of us," Lewis said in a statement.

Christopher Reeve, the one-time Hollywood "Superman" turned activist for spinal cord research after a 1995 horse-riding accident, died in 2004.

Dana Reeve was a constant companion and supporter of her husband during his long ordeal and his work for a cure for spinal cord injuries.

She was chairwoman of the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation, which funds research on paralysis and works to improve the life of the disabled. To date, it has awarded $55 million in research grants and $7.5 million in quality of life grants.

She was performing in the Broadway-bound play "Brooklyn Boy" in California when she had to streak home to reach her husband's bedside before he died. She gave up the role for the New York run.

Reeve also served on the boards of The Williamstown Theatre Festival, The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, TechHealth, and The Reeve-Irvine Center for Spinal Cord Research and as an advisory board member to the National Family Caregivers Association.

She received numerous awards for her work, including the Shining Example Award from Proctor & Gamble in 1998, an American Image Award from the AAFA in 2003. In 2005, the American Cancer Society named her Mother of the Year.

In addition to her son and step-children, she is survived by her father, Dr. Charles Morosini, and sisters Deborah Morosini and Adrienne Morosini Heilman.

No funeral plans were announced. The family said donations could be made in Dana Reeve's memory to the Christopher Reeve Foundation in Short Hills, New Jersey.

...otro que tampoco està ya respirando por este mundo és Johnny Jackson,el primo de Michael y que tocaba la batería en los jackson 5...le apuñalaron la semana passada

Johnny Jackson, the man who kept the beat for the Jackson 5, and cousin to Michael, Janet, Tito et al., was found stabbed to death in his Gary, Indiana, home Wednesday. (1-III-06)

According to local police, officers were called to Johnny Jackson's house at approximately 11:30 p.m. after a neighbor phoned in a noise complaint. The caller, who lived above Jackson, reported that the musician and an unidentified woman were having a heated exchange on the first floor of the building.

The police entered Jackson's home and found the 54-year-old unconscious with a stab wound to his chest. Less than an hour later, the Lake County coroner's office pronounced him dead.

The person who placed the emergency call told cops she went downstairs after hearing the commotion and found her neighbor lying in living room. It was then she contacted the police.

Police have no details on the woman Jackson was supposedly arguing with, including how she knew the drummer, although the neighbor described the woman as an acquaintance of Jackson's.

No arrests have been made. The case is being treated as a homicide investigation.

Jackson joined his famous cousins' singing troupe in the late 1960s, replacing the group's original drummer, Milford Hite. While Motown sessions musicians played on most of the group's greatest cuts, including "I Want You Back," "ABC," "I'll Be There" and "Never Can Say Goodbye," Johnny Jackson was the band's concert drummer. After the group disbanded, he joined an outfit called the White Doves.

There has always been some debate as to whether or not Johnny Jackson was a blood relative or legitimate cousin of the hit-making family; however, it is believed that he was a nephew of patriarch Joe Jackson.

It's not immediately known whether Johnny Jackson had ever married or had children; he was living alone at the time of his death.

"It hurts me so bad," Jackson's childhood friend and White Doves bandmate Anthony Acoff told the Associated Press. "I called him that night. We were supposed to go to a jam session."

"He was a show drummer," said another old friend, Gordon Keith (who has sued the Jackson 5 over some early recordings). "There were times that he would outshine Michael at their shows."

  • …más Michael Jackson
    "Losing Neverland"
    http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060310/peo ... jackson_dc

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Michael Jackson was ordered to shut down his Neverland Valley Ranch on Thursday by California authorities who have fined the pop star $169,000 for failing to pay his employees or maintain proper insurance.

Jackson's sprawling ranch in the central California foothills was closed, at least temporarily, by an agent of the State Labor Commissioner after the office discovered that his worker's compensation policy had lapsed in January.

"We went out there this morning and issued a stop order to the security guard at the front gate," state Department of Industrial Relations spokesman Dean Fryer told Reuters. "We asked to be escorted in to meet management, but we were refused and turned away, so we gave the order to (the guard)."

Fryer said local animal welfare officials had been asked to care for the inhabitants of Neverland's zoo.

He said that Jackson could reopen the ranch if he obtains workers compensation insurance but may face legal action by the state if he fails to pay the back wages.

Jackson, who was cleared last June of criminal charges that he sexually abused a young boy at Neverland, has spent much of his time since the trial in Bahrain and was not at his ranch when authorities arrived. His representatives could not immediately be reached for comment.

The order prohibits Jackson from employing anyone at the 2,800-acre (1,130-hectare) ranch until the insurance issues are resolved, Fryer said. "So it looks like this would mean for Neverland Valley Ranch that they would be closed down."

Jackson on Thursday was fined $69,000, or $1,000 per employee, for allowing his insurance to lapse. Earlier this week, authorities cited him for violating state labor law by failing to pay at least 30 employees since December of 2005. A letter for that citation imposes a $100,000 fine and demands that he make good on $306,000 in unpaid wages.

Fryer said his office learned of the workers compensation issue after a Neverland employee making an unpaid-wage claim remarked that a co-worker had been injured on the job and was uncertain about filing a claim due to the lapsed insurance.

If an employee were hurt at Neverland while Jackson was uninsured, Fryer said, "the medical expenses associated with that injury would have to be picked up by the state."

Prosecutors asserted during Jackson's child molestation trial that the pop singer was in precarious financial shape due to mounting debts.

    Article Written By: willow
It is being said that Michael Jackson will choose his third baby's parents from a catalogue.

The pop singer has always claimed that Prince Michael II was conceived naturally using his sperm and a surrogate mother.

But now it's being allegedly said that the pop star chose an attractive woman, who resembled the looks of beautiful women like actresses Penelope Cruz and Salma Hayek, from a book of egg donors.

Michael allegedly matched her to a suitable sperm donor to create the four year old boy, who he sometimes likes to call "Blanket".

Fox News reporter, Rodger Friedman wrote on the US news channel's website; "Sources confirm his mother was selected from a book of egg donors supplied by Jackson's physician."

Jackson flipped through the book and selected the woman he thought was most appealing.

Unlike Debbie Rowe (the mother of Jackson's first two children, Prince Michael Jr, 9, and seven-year-old Paris), the anonymous woman is said to have been dark-haired and Latina-looking, like a Penelope Cruz or Salma Hayek.

Once she was chosen, a sperm donor was used to fertilise the egg. In other words Blanket was 'created' for Jackson."
