Our good friend Gerry Staumbaugh of Santa Rosa's venerable Last Record Store will begin re-releasing Victims Family's first three albums on his Saint Rose Records label, starting later this year (yes,2009) with the release of White Bread Blues. These will be vinyl releases including a digital or cd release and a booklet of photos, fliers, set lists, musings what have you. You can submit said items for inclusion in the booklet or on this web site via email ralph at victims family dot com . Please note that photos and images for publication should be 300 dpi jpgs while submissions for the web site can be as low as 72 dpi. We are first looking for submissions from the 1989-91 era around the release of White Bread Blues as this will be the first re-release.There will probably be a show to celebrate the release, too. But that's all I'm going to say about that. Right now.
But here's a little news for you: Larry is now in Triclops, Ralph does what he does in The Freak Accident, and plays guitar in Jello Biafra and the Spineless Yesmen, Tim is touring with celebs and seems quite happy at home in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, David moved to Texas, but Jason is now in Portland, OR, and Joaquin still does cut-ups (a couple for The Freak Accident's last album cover).

30 YEARS OF THE EX!
News:
–G.W. Sok decides to stop.
--Arnold de Boer of Zea new Ex band member.
--Tour in march. The Ex & Ililta Band (Ethiopia)
--DVD of the Ex -25 years Convoy Tour.
--The Ex - 30 years. Compilation CD and LP.
--Re-issue of Scrabbling at the lock.
--New releases by Andy, Terrie, Kat and Arnold.
--More dates.
--Getatchew & The Ex tour in may.
--Silent Block & The Ex to Ethiopia in april/may.
--New website soon. After 29 years G.W. Sok has decided to call it a day and not sing or tour with us anymore. After a long period of doubt and lengthy discussions he came to the conclusion that he had no longer enough enthusiasm for the complete Ex-undertaking. He wants to spend more time on writing and graphic design. He will continue to participate in Ex activities, one way or another.
This year (2009) is the 30th anniversary of the Ex. And after having played 1371 concerts all over the planet, the Ex, sometimes described as 'experimental trance-dance avant-afro-punk improv music', appears again with a completely new program for the coming tour in march.
And a new band member! For the coming tour in march (see ‘concerts’) we have invited Zea frontman Arnold de Boer to join us. One of our favourite musicians for many years now. We have worked together on The Ex 25-year Anniversary party 'The Convoy Tour'. Andy and Terrie also played with him last year may in Ethiopia and it worked a treat!
Arnold will play samples, beats, guitar, vocals and anything he can get his hands on. Terrie and Andy will continue to explore their baritone guitars which appeared in the last set and Katherina will find some more inventive rhythms and hopefully sing some more beautiful tunes. Without doubt it is going to be an exciting new chapter in the Ex's history! -

David Bowie is in talks to headline the 2009 Coachella festival in Los Angeles, according to reports.
_Organisers are said to have launched a new bid to attract the singer after discussions for Bowie to headline last year's event fell through. It's claimed that he has been asked to perform his 1972 album, 'The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars', in its entirety at the festival.
"Coachella tried to book Bowie last year and he refused, so they got Prince to headline instead,” a source told the Daily Stars newspaper. “But there's a very strong chance they will be able to persuade him this year."
Today's reports come less than a week after a Twitter user posting under the name David Bowie claimed the singer was working on new material._
