It's true, we're not playing shows right now BUT we for sure did not break up. I just haven't felt like being in an active band for the past couple years. I was on the 'playing shows and making records' treadmill for over 17 years and that is a long time to do the same thing over and over and over again. Like that movie Groundhog's Day, I eventually needed to wake up and have it not be the same day._

Pixies have announced details of a European tour for October that includes shows in London, Dublin and Glasgow.
Frank Black and co will play two nights at the Dublin Olympia, four at the O2 Academy Brixton in London and one at the Glasgow SECC.
The gig run will be named the 'Doolittle' tour to mark the 20th anniversary of the release of that album.
Pixies will play all the songs that feature on the album and its related b-sides at the shows.
The band are set to release a new career-spanning box set, 'Minotaur', in September. They played an impromptu live gig in London earlier this month at an exhibition of the set's artwork

tiene pinta que no se van a pasar por españa a menos que sea en un festival que les suelte una buena morterada.
por cierto, para mi los pixies son un grupo que puede tocar lo que les de la gana. todos y cada uno de sus temas son grandes éxitos.

EL AYUNTAMIENTO DE BCN PODRÍA EXPEDIENTAR A U2 POR EXCESO DE RUIDO EN LOS ENSAYOS

El Ayuntamiento de Barcelona podría expedientar a U2 por incumplir el horario de los ensayos en el Camp Nou y superar el nivel de ruido permitido, según un comunicado difundido hoy.
Los ensayos de los dos conciertos de la banda irlandesa -el primero celebrado el martes, y el segundo previsto para hoy- han provocado un gran número de quejas por parte de los vecinos del distrito de Les Corts desde que se iniciaron las pruebas de sonido a mediados de junio.
A raíz de las protestas, el ayuntamiento ha anunciado hoy que actuará ante un posible caso de incumplimiento de horarios y emisión de ruidos.
Ensayos controlados
El consistorio ha recordado que la autorización de conciertos públicos es competencia de la Generalitat, y que el permiso concedido a los promotores no incorporaba los correspondientes a los ensayos. El distrito de Les Corts requirió el pasado 23 de junio a los responsables del espectáculo que solicitaran esa autorización.
Tres días más tarde, según han informado las mismas fuentes, el distrito autorizó los ensayos con la condición de que acabaran a las 22.00 horas y que el límite de sonido no superase lo recogido por la ordenanza municipal, que las fija en 70 decibelios entre las 7.00 y las 22.00 horas.
Las pruebas de los conciertos comenzaron el pasado 15 de junio, por lo que la banda irlandesa, que iniciaba en Barcelona su gira mundial, estuvo ensayando sin permiso durante 11 días, y además los ensayos se alargaban hasta la medianoche.
Desde que el consistorio comenzó a recibir las primeras quejas, la Guardia Urbana ha estado controlando los ensayos y ha levantado las correspondientes actas.
Y digo yo que ni los desalojaron, ni les dijeron que parasen, ni cerraron el local. Ya me imagino a Bono a la cabeza de una mani en contra de la ordenanza esa….
