As many of you know by now, Converge will be releasing their long-awaited new studio album, "Axe To Fall," on October 20th via Epitaph Records (with vinyl to be issued by Deathwish Inc.).
The effort was recorded by guitarist Kurt Ballou at this Godcity studios in Salem, MA and features guest appearances from a host of notables, including Steve Brodsky (Cave In), Adam McGrath (Cave In), J.R. Connors (Cave In, Doomriders), Uffe Cederlund (Disfear, ex-Entombed), John Pettibone (The Vows, Himsa), Steve Von Till (Neurosis), and Mookie Singerman (Genghis Tron).

R.E.M. LIVE AT THE OLYMPIA COMING THIS OCTOBER!
October 26 is the release date of R.E.M. LIVE AT THE OLYMPIA, a two-CD set on Warner Bros Records, featuring 39 songs from the band's 2007 working rehearsals in Dublin, Ireland.
"Live At The Olympia" captures R.E.M. in uncharted territory. Over the course of their one week residency at the stately Olympia Theatre in Ireland's capital city, the band (for the first time in their storied career) tested new material in front of audiences prior to releasing the songs on record. The capacity crowds in attendance, including fan club members, friends, family, and fans from all over the globe, were party to R.E.M.'s aptly dubbed "experiment in terror." "We were just trying to do something we hadn't done before," said guitarist Peter Buck, "which meant there was no relaxing during the set. Every second we were playing something we didn't know all that well. Which was kind of good… there were all kinds of terror elements going on during that show."
The live album was produced by Dublin native Jacknife Lee who, along with R.E.M., co-produced Accelerate, the album which emerged from these shows. Most of the eleven songs on Accelerate appeared in some form or fashion at the Dublin rehearsals.
In addition to the new material, R.E.M. reached into their back catalog and played twenty-nine other songs, some of them rarely if ever performed. The lion's share of these songs came from the band's IRS years, ranging from Chronic Town to Document.
A special edition 2 CD & DVD set will contain a film of the Dublin rehearsals by Vincent Moon and Jeremiah, who previously worked with R.E.M. on Ninetynights, Six Days, and the video for Supernatural Superserious.

El artista norteamericano, ha contaado con la colaboración de Jason Falkner (también colaborador de Beck) para elaborar las nuevas canciones de un disco que tendrá el título Is and Always Was y que estará a la venta el próximo 6 de octubre.

Ayer justo estaba viendo el documental The Devil and Daniel Johnston (por cierto se me corta y los subtitulos no iban a la par), entrañable, me encantaría verlo, ¿un Tanned Tin?? mmmm.
¿alguien sabe de algun enlace bueno para el docu?

Parece que se han peleado los Gallagher en bambalinas antes del concierto en Rock En Seine, y han cancelado el bolo y los otros dos que les quedaban para acabar la gira. Ya tendremos para unas cuantas semanas para saber si es la ruptura definitiva o si hacen el paripe como llevan haciendo tiempo (vuelan por separado y ese tipo de cosas) para seguir sacando tajada.

el sr Brian Kelly (aka So Cow) está terminando de grabar su nuevo disco en Irlanda y promete estrenar temas en el próximo Primavera Club. También estrena formación con nuevo batería y empezara a girar con Nodzzz proximamente.
La única banda de reggae que no toca reggae Retribution Gospel Choir acaba de terminar su nuevo disco (después de unos problemillas con las mezclas finales) probablemente edite Sub Pop pero todavía no es seguro, el disco se sale por los cuatro costados, el termino intenso se le queda pequeño y hay unos instrumentales aciditos que son una maravilla, en fin se me sale lo fan.
En el PCLub como es menester estreno de temazos.

lowtrux, tu que tienes contactos, a mi lo del nuevo disco de retribution me apetece u egg y tal, y me parece un proyecto interesante y bla bla bla bla, pero lo que yo quiero es material nuevo de low y veo que Alan está enfriando mucho la cosa lowiana, hay que temer por el tema?

Yo no creo que haya que temer, pero parece que será para 2010 ya (segunda mitad) eso me dijo a mí el mismo Alan cuando le pregunté el año pasado en su concierto de Santander.
