no conocía lo de que el bajista de death cab tocó en junoPues a Shiner los conocía sólo de oídas (o de leídas, mejor dicho). Tienen muy buena pinta, de momento ya he conseguido bajarme "The Egg" y espero encontrar el resto de discos. De Compound Red sí que no había oído hablar nunca así que permaneceré atento.
Revisando los créditos del "A future…" he confirmado que, sin llegar a ser miembros oficiales, los bajistas de Death Cab... y Nate Mendel de SDRE tocaron el bajo y piano en varias canciones del disco. Pocos grupos yankis he oido después que llegaran a ese nivelazo. Me alegra saber que había más gente pro aquí que les hacían tilín.

Loquillo ha grabado ‘El hombre de negro’ con Calamaro, Urritia y Bunbury
Fue la semana pasada, en un estudio madrileño: Loquillo grababa una versión de ‘El hombre de negro’ –el ‘Man in black’ de Johnny Cash, que en esta adaptación de Gabriel Sopeña hace tiempo que es un clásico del barcelonés– junto a sus amigos Andrés Calamaro y Jaime Urrutia. A los controles, Jaime Stinus; tocando, la banda del Loco: Igor Paskual, Laura Gómez, Laurent Castagnet y el propio Stinus. Por su lado, Enrique Bunbury grabó en Gerona partes vocales para el mismo tema, pero no pudo estar en la grabación junto a sus compañeros debido a que está ultimando las mezclas de su próximo disco. Mañana, los tres primeros y el grupo del Loco se vuelven a reunir para rodar el videoclip de esta canción, que será una de las guindas que incluirá la antología sobre Loquillo que estos días se está ultimando y que verá la luz en otoño.

Fuck Buttons reveal 'intense' sessions behind Andrew Weatherall-produced album
's Andrew Hung has shed some light on the recording process of his band's forthcoming new album 'Tarot Sport'.
Working alongside famed DJ, producer and remixer Andrew Weatherall – known for his collaborations with the likes of Primal Scream, Happy Mondays and New Order – Hung admitted that they needed an “intense” working environment to create the record that is released on October 12.
"It was a really intense but extremely satisfying experience at the same time," Hung told NME.COM which he recorded with fellow bandmate Benjamin John Power at Rotters Golf Club Studio in London.
“Because we were having to contribute ideas and articulate them to all the parties involved we worked really closely, for really long, full days for three weeks or so. That’s why it was so intense.”
Asked as to why the duo opted to work with Weatherall on 'Tarot Sport', Hung said that the duo "were conscious of not repeating the sound on 'Street Horrrsing'", their debut for ATP Recordings.
The electronic duo are set to play the Geoff Barrow curated concert Invada Invasion on September 26 at Bristol Colston Hall, alongside the likes of Mogwai, Crippled Black Phoenix, Team Brick and Gonga.
New single ‘Surf Solar’ will be the first single release from ‘Tarot Sport’ on September 14.

Keen Pitchfork regulars may have noticed a mysterious ad on the site recently featuring a comely, Polo-shirt-wearing blonde staring disarmingly into the camera. The picture led to http://www.ithinkuracontra.com/, which displayed a bigger version of the photo...and nothing else.
Well, as you might have figured out by now, it's all part of what's sure to be an enticing viral run-up to Vampire Weekend's second album, Contra, which will bring much joy to Polo aficionados (and regular folks, too, I'm sure) when it's released on January 12, 2010, courtesy of XL. Winter just got a lot more bearable.
Whether the "Contra" in question is video game-related, bassoon-related, Nicaraguan rebel-related, or--most likely-- just some more winningly cryptic Ezra-style slang is not yet known. We do know the names of the ten songs set to show up on the LP, though. Check those out-- along with a couple October Canadian tour dates-- after the jump:
