Yesterday afternoon, the Appleseed Cast's van and trailer were run off the road in KS. No members of the band were in the accident, but friend and tour mate Anthony Piazza of Muscle Worship was driving and luckily is OK. On the not so lucky side, Appleseed's trailer was completely destroyed, there are damages to their tour van, and many pieces of their gear were wrecked. If you have any loot to spare and want to help them get back on the road next week, we here at Graveface really appreciate it. If you donate a minimum of $15, you'll get their new (and incredible!) album, Illumination Ritual, in just about any digital format you can imagine. If you already have this record and simply want to donate, you can send your donations to gravefacerecords@hotmail.com. Here's a list of the wrecked gear that needs to be replaced:

I used to work in an office with a guy who played drums for the band Asobi Seksu. When he told me the name of his band, I found the moniker to be strange, inviting, and enchanting … till he informed me it was a Japanese translation of the English-language term “sport fucking” (which the band had lifted from Fight Club). Ann Arbor quartet Pity Sex have chosen a handle that is no less dubious in origin than Asobi Seksu, and it’s made doubly so by the fact that the band doesn’t even bother to glamour-cloak it in non-English. Oddly, though, Pity Sex and Asobi Seksu have more in common than just their dispiriting monikers: Both bands are quartets that play blissful and gigantic-sounding shoegaze pop with alternating female-male vocals and overdriven guitars. Pity Sex — drummer Sean St. Charles, guitarist/vocalist Brennan Greaves, bassist Brandan Pierce, and guitarist/vocalist Britty Drake — emerged in 2012 with the six-song Dark World EP (which you can check out on the band’s Bandcamp), and they’re now set to release their first full-length, Feast Of Love. We’ve got the Greaves-fronted album-opener “Wind-Up” for you to spin today, and if it means anything, it’s one of my favorite songs of 2013 — all feedback and fat, fuzzy guitars, glorious melancholy and insane pop hooks. I honestly love it. Listen.

Hey Everyone-
Over the last few weeks I haven’t felt good and I didn’t know what was going on. We sadly had to cancel shows while I went through a series of tests and short hospital stays. We just found out that I have a stage-one tumor on my bile duct. Luckily we caught it really early and fast and the doctors say it’s operable and curable!
I will be having surgery very soon and will have to rest and recover. I’ll be staying in touch and keeping my fans and friends updated on my progress. I’m looking forward to getting back on the road to give the people what they want! -

Ahora, la buena: David Lynch, que supuestamente está escribiendo el guión de su nuevo film, sacará su segundo álbum, "The big dream", el día 16 de julio. El tema que se ha podido escuchar hoy, "I'm waiting here" (con voz de Lykke Li), es una preciosidad muy…'lynchiana':
