NEW SITE: BUTLINS IN MINEHEAD!

United Sounds of ATP is completely sold out but we are pleased to reveal that Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth and founder of the Ecstatic Peace label is set to curate this years Nightmare Before Christmas to take place on December 8th – 10th. Headlining the weekend will be Iggy and The Stooges and Sonic Youth! Tickets on-sale on Friday 7th April at 9:00am.

We would also like to announce that this years Nightmare Before Christmas event is to be held at a brand new site, Butlins Holiday Camp in Minehead. Due to the specifications of the new accommodation, there will now be two prices for the tickets, £115 for Room Only accommodation and £135 for Self Catering accommodation both of which include free electricity. 2 and 3 berth rooms will be available for the first time.

Butlins Minehead looks out across a superb sandy beach. The new site not only has a supermarket, newsagent and cash points, it also has Burger King, Pizza Hut, Finnigan’s fish and chips, Sun and Moon, Skyline Café and Yacht Club Dining room. Onsite facilities include a cinema, Splash Water World - a sub-tropical environment that has a huge wave pool, a swimming pool, 3 flumes and also a flume based raft ride - Ten-pin bowling and amusement arcade. Sports include Archery, Football, Basketball, Darts, Petanque, Fencing, Kwik Cricket, Netball, Rounders, Table Tennis, Outdoor Bowls and Crazy Golf.

Room Only accommodation is available in 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 berths and offers either double, single or bunk beds with private bathroom and TV, but no kitchen facilities or lounge, more like a hotel room. (£115 + booking fee per ticket)

Self Catering accommodation is available in 4, 6 or 7 berths and offers private bathroom, full kitchen facilities and separate lounge area with TV. (£135 + booking fee per ticket)

All tickets include a 3-day festival pass and 3 nights accommodation. Ticket includes performances starting from mid-afternoon, with around 50 acts set to play live across the weekend. There are four pubs and DJ sets through till late, plus three nights in a self-catering chalet or room only accommodation all with private bathroom suites and TV’s.

Butlins Holiday Camp Minehead, Somerset , TA24 5SH is located near Glastonbury.

By road
Heading north the simplest route is to take the M5 to Taunton (Junction 25), then take the A358 and A39 to Minehead. Heading south on the M5, you can follow the signposts for the A39 from junction 24. Butlins Minehead Holiday Camp is just half a mile along the seafront road from Minehead town centre.

By train or rail
If you are travelling by train, the nearest main line station to Minehead is Taunton. A bus transfer service is operated by Southern National between Taunton Station and Minehead. This service is available at an additional cost. On Mondays to Saturdays, there's approximately an hourly service, with the last bus leaving Taunton Railway Station at
10:15 pm. On Sundays and Bank Holidays services run every 2 hours from 9:35 am - 9:35 pm. For general information call Southern National on 01823 272033. Please note that National Express coaches stop inside the main entrance.

Create an alternative to slavery

Roskilde Festival's humanitarian focus in 2006 is modern slavery under the slogan "Act against Slavery".
Again this year, we have chosen to focus on modern slavery under the slogan "Act against Slavery" - this year with a special focus on children in Cambodia. The means are support to education as the road to another life. There are more than 27 mio. slaves in the world today. Each year, about a million people are sold to slavery. Cambodia is one example that is now scrutinized.

Many children in Cambodia have no possibilities of getting an education - and are thereby in a very vulnerable position. They are easy targets to the slave traders as they are often very poor and cannot read or write. This is why children end up as slaves every day, e.g. by sorting garbage on dumps, by begging or by prostituting themselves. They have no alternative if they wish to survive. We want to contribute to show that an alternative can be made.

In 2006, Our humanitarian focus will support a number of projects in Cambodia, which work on making it possible that these children can be educated. With education, the world opens up - making it possible to get work and survive without ending in the hands of slave traders.

The core of the humanitarian focus is an extensive bottle collection during Roskilde Festival. In this way, you can donate your deposit to creating educational possibilities for children in Cambodia. The goal is to collect over DKK 400,000 (approx. euro 55,000). Money given directly from young people in Europe to children and young people in Cambodia.

Besides the bottle collection, we arrange a number of activities and events focusing on slavery. Activities in which you can participate and form your own opinions.

This year's humanitarian focus is arranged by Roskilde Festival in collaboration with Danish aid organisation DanChurchAid.

Each year, Roskilde Festival focuses on a humanitarian issue that deserves extra attention. In the past four years the festival has focused on the following campaigns:
2002: "One Step" - Roskilde against landmines
2003: "Hello Peace" - Dialogue between Palestinians and Israelis
2004: "Make Peace, not Walls" - Humanitarian consequences of the barriers on the West Bank
2005: "Act against Slavery" - Modern slavery in Cambodia

All profits from Roskilde Festival are given directly to the Roskilde Festival Society which donates the money to humanitarian or cultural purposes benefitting people all over the world. Thus, Roskilde Festival's humanitarian focus is just one example on how the audience via Roskilde Festival supports people in need all over the world.

Lo que no entiendo es porque mezclan hip-hop con los otros estilos electrónicos-pastilleros, acaso comparten el mismo público?

lo comparten…conozco a demasiada gente desechos de la antigua ruta del bakalao que les flipa el hip hop y van a a monegros...pero no te confundas..realmente la musica es indiferente....aunque cuanto mas alienante sea mejor...

La nueva edición del festival METROROCK 2006, tendrá lugar los días 23
y 24 de Junio en el Parque Juan Carlos I de Madrid.

Después de la exitosa edición del año pasado donde cerca de 30.000
personas disfrutaron de su programación y el entorno privilegiado del
Parque Juan Carlos I, ideal para este tipo de eventos por comodidad y
accesos, la organización está trabajando para poder ofrecer al público
una nueva propuesta artística.

METROROCK continúa con la misma filosofía con la que comenzó: ofrecer al
gran público algunas muestras de las diferentes corrientes musicales que
conviven en el universo musical. Por tanto, METROROCK sigue adelante con
la labor de dar a conocer nuevas bandas emergentes, junto con artistas,
nacionales e internacionales, que cuentan con un reconocido prestigio
entre los jóvenes.

Os adelantamos que actuarán en METROROCK 2006:

Black Eyed Peas, Paul Weller, The Charlatans, Ok Go, Lori Meyers,
Muchachito Bombo Infierno, Chambao, Sólo Los Solo, Macaco, Matisyahu,
Sexy Sadie, El Bicho, Bersuit* con nuevos grupos emergentes como
Spunkfool, Cultura Probase o No Reply.

Además contaremos con una selecta programación de Dj´s nacionales e
internacionales entre los que podemos ya adelantar los nombres de Karl
Bartos (Kraftwerk), Jaumëtic, Damian Schwartz, Iñaqui Marín, Tadeo*

Os daremos puntual información del cartel completo y resto de novedades
en la rueda de prensa que celebraremos en las próximas semanas. También

el año pasado solo estaban OCEAN COLOUR SCENE y STANDSTILL…para mi....pero en general esta bien el festival...las instalaciones estan de puta madre..si no fuera por las colas para canjear la entrada...
