Breathe Owl Breathe sing of folklore and homespun miracles, oral histories left to thaw in the earth's crust until pre-history's giant ice cubes rolled their wet bulk down the North Pole and into Canada, finally settling into extinction in what we now call the Great Lakes. It's from the shores of these bodies that Breathe Owl Breathe come (Ann Arbor, Michigan, to be precise), and it's in the shadows of those hollowed troughs that these eight songs rest. These are songs about being left behind, songs about being dead, songs without geography, songs worth repeating.The music is very economical — guitar, cello, drums, piano, other organic sounds — and the vocals float between folk and country, a very earnest mood. It sounds a lot like Smog — singer Micah Middaugh and Bill Callahan have similar voice boxes — and at other times early Lucinda Williams, Victoria Williams and, in the case of "Your Cape," even Loretta Lynn. There's a distinctly — and very specifically — American folk tradition at work here, and I don't get the feeling that Breathe Owl Breathe at all mind their limited scope." (Yancey Strickler)

Ilya Monosov’s Seven Lucky Plays, Or How To Fix Songs For A Broken Heart is Monosov’s private celebration of the human experience and are based on his poems and stories written from 1996–2007. His early exposure to Russian dissident culture greatly affected his life and art. Influenced from a young age by his parents’s passion for literature, art, and poetry; as well as by the music of Vladimir Vysotsky, Alexander Galich, Leonard Cohen, Coltrane, Miles Davis , and African American folk music traditions (blues and gospel), Monosov’s picked acoustic guitar and voice arrangements were recorded at Hexham Head by Greg Weeks (of Espers), and feature strings by Margaret Weink (Fern Knight), mandolin and harp by Jesse Sparhawk, and electric guitar by Weeks.
Ilya Monosov is half of The Shining Path (Holy Mountain) and a member of Mountain Home. Features players Jesse Sparhawk (Language of Stone) and Margaret Wienk (Fern Knight).

Me acabo de dar cuenta hace un poquito. No es que me vaya mucho pero le daré una escucha, mi problema es la duración de los temas. 20 minutitos por cada me acaban saturando ligeramente, jeje. Mejor a pequeñas dosis.

alguien me puede hechar un cable please!este, como el de las Cansei, no sale hasta el 22. Creo que hasta la misma semana del Summercase estará chungo encontrar enlaces de esos discos (el que rulaba por aqui de las Cansei dijeron que era un bucle)
Lo mismo con The Faint, que sacan cd el 5 de agosto (qué ganas!)
