pass: caucasian-tabloidqué me recomiendas de alva noto? lo conocí como carsten nicolai, me pareció la hostia de intereante y me bajé el for, del 2006. encontré más cosas pero me daba un poco de pereza ir así tan a ciegas con algo que a lo que en principio le voy a dar muy limitadas escuchas.
por cierto, y siguiendo con el offtopic (llevalo a otros hilos si quieres) fuiste al flux delux? qué tal? fluxus a a la catalana o algo mejor?

Para mi un discazo atemporal y una de las cumbres del sonido raster-noton sería el disco Cyclo - Cyclo (2001) Proyecto conjunto de Carsten Nicolai y Ryoji Ikeda
de Alva noto te recomendaría el Transform, la última colaboración con Sakamoto y su proyecto Aleph-1, nose es un sonido muy característico el de esta gente, muy conceptual, y un artwork del carajo… en el offf hicieron toda una retrospectiva del sello, artwork etc etc muy interesante
a fluxus no fui, no me hacía del todo buena pinta...

yo tampoco fui a fluxus aunque sí que me apetecía. tenía otras cosas que hacer. pero luego sí que me quedé con la curiosidad.
p.d. por cierto, todo esto me queda muy lejos pero, carsten nicolai y alva noto no son la misma persona? eso tenía entendido, el primero como artista y el segundo como músico… pero... he de entender al leerte que son gente diferente pero en estrecha relación?
y un segundo por cierto... si te apetece, echalé un vistazo a los catálogos en pdf en la web de carsten nicolai, que no tienen desperdicio.

coincido plenamente con Pelukini en la recomendación de Transform. También en que le eches un vistazo a sus colaboraciones con Sakamoto, en especial los dos lps, Insen y Vrioon

he encontrado muchos discos aquí http://forum.funkysouls.com/index.php?act=Print&client=printer&f=57&t=56882 y aún estoy bajando y no lo he comprobado, pero debe de haber uno que los sube con un ripeo excelente ya que están en 4 partes o así cada uno. por si alguien quiere mirárselo.

LAWRENCE ENGLISH - Kiri No Oto [cd, Touch, 2008]

On hiatus from his own room40 imprint, Lawrence English also takes leave of the disciplined microsound ventures that made albums like 'For Varying Degrees Of Winter' so involving. Instead, Kiri No Oto (a Japanese phrase meaning 'sound of fog') takes both instrumental and found sounds cultivated from English's travels around Poland, New Zealand, Australia and Japan and submits them to filtering, harmonic distortion and other processes that would shroud or otherwise obscure the original signals. Consequently, the record sets out to study a kind of auditory fog, and the richness of sound that comes about from this misting achieves the most compelling results when there's an essential quietness to the central sound mass itself: 'Figure's Lone Static' serves as a good example of this, placing emphasis on the auditory details of the blur itself rather than the sound that gave birth to it, and it's the peripheral elements and side-effects that are the real subject matter of this album. Over the span of Kiri No Oto you'll encounter the towering, borderline fuzz of 'Organs Lost At Sea', the Popul Vuh-like tones of 'Allay', but also gentler moments, as on the pure vapour of 'Soft Fuse', or the dazzling, overloaded shimmer effervesced from 'Waves Sheer Light'. Although this might initially seem entirely disconnected from the miniaturised sound world of earlier triumphs in the Lawrence English discography, these sound studies are no less detailed, no less experimental, and no less beguiling. A Massive recommendation.

LAWRENCE ENGLISH es un crack. Para quien no lo conozca, recomiendo mucho mucho mucho las grabaciones, tanto propias como no, que edita en su propio sello, el australiano ROOM 40. Incluso tiene referencias que se pueden descargar gratuitamente en su web ( www.room40.org ).
Y sin desmerecer a Touch, un sello con una trayectoria ejemplar y con un propietario que es una bellísima persona.

in the true spirit of the occasion, southern maine's outerworldly psych-folk beacons visitations and big blood decide to forgo the concept of the "split" release and instead launch forth into a mindbending collaborative effort. the bands are not new to performing together: they've toured together and have even backed each other up under various names. but this release marks the first physical release by their combined forces, and, unbelievably enough, is big blood's first vinyl release ever. the ease with which the bands complement each other is astounding - five clear voices reaching together to guide the record through a buzz-guitar singalong, a breathless pastoral folk tune, a chugging nightmare rock-dirge, and a sweetly-lighthearted vocal exercise. this 33rpm 7" record contains four tracks in a 14-minute official runtime, but will play forever if you let it. in addition, the record comes with a bonus cd-r of tracks from the late-night jam session that pre-dated the recording sessions for the 7", as well as the four tracks from the 7" itself in digital form. a one-of-a-kind package, with each record sleeve offset printed with the bands' artwork in dark blue ink on colorful, individually hand-painted sheets of heavy art paper. embossed, hand-numbered limited edition of 300 record/cd-r sets.
