BorradoPues eso, he borrado el link. Annelies me ha pedido que lo borrase, que no sabe como se ha podido filtrar, que espera que el disco salga a principios del 2009 y que sólo lo ha enviado a 6 o 7 personas de sellos y amigos, todavía no sabe quien lo editará.

Multitudinous organs, synthesizers, guitars, a sampler, a piano, a dog, Polaroid cameras, sketch books, New Yorker back issues, boxes of CDs and a PowerBook mark the territory. There is an air of controlled chaos and the musty smell of old tube amps.
This is where, under the watchful eye of a dog and perhaps several hundred interred ghosts, Weaver’s striking new album, Paper Sky, took shape. With the aid of committed producer Brian Deck (Modest Mouse, Iron & Wine), the record coalesces into a seamless blend of urban and rural, experimental and roots. “This record explores urban and industrial themes that I hadn’t touched before. I have been living in the city and that has made me see the relationship between the city and field differently.”

Chairlift - Does You Inspire You

I first saw Chairlift about a year-and-a-half ago, not long after the trio had picked up from their hometown of Boulder, CO and headed east to start a new life in Brooklyn. I remember being totally drawn into the band's folky, electronic-tinged pop songs and singer Caroline Polachek possessing the pipes of a young, opera-trained Chan Marshall.
While Chairlift hadn't quite blossomed, they were about to, and soon after their name started appearing on frequent bills with groups like MGMT, YACHT and Yeasayer. Now comes their first full-length, Does You Inspire You, which certainly is a much more assured and textured affair than their early live shows. On record, the electronic production is a lot more prevalent and, mirroring the band members' art school pedigree, tracks like "Planet Health" and "Evident Utensil" could arguably trace some lineage back to Kate Bush, though Chairlift balances the mysterious with playful, un-pretentious imagery – the aforementioned "Evident Utensil" is a song about pencils. One of my favorite tracks, "Bruises," is as lilting as any Au Revoir Simone tune (although the guys outnumber the girls 2 to 1 in Chairlift), with its bouncy Casio beat and Polachek's gentle heartbreak yearning of "I tried to do hand stands for you / but every time I fell for you / I'm permanently black and blue."Emiliana Torrini - Me And Armini

The pedigree paring of Torrini's song writing and Carey's sonic alchemy (currently being put to work on the new Franz Ferdinand and recent Hot Chip records) has previously combined to world-beating effect when they co-wrote / produced 'Slow' for Kylie as well as contributing 'Golum's Song' to the multi platinum sound track to Peter Jackson's The Lord Of The Rings.

Los dos primeros discos que sacó a finales de los 90 y principios de siglo eran trip hop cutrón con algún tema guapo… Después, perdió a su novio en un accidente mientras él estaba de viaje y eso condicionó muchísimo su estilo. Puro folk Pop con esa voz como de elfa, de niña pequeña.... su anterior disco "Fisherman's Woman" (fíjate en el título) es una delicia.
Por cierto, aunque de padre italiano, es islandesa de pura cepa! Yo iría a verla aunque sea sólo por curiosidad Trinx... y ade+ estoy convencido que esta también te molará como (como mujer).

Yo su primer disco me lo pillé en 12Tónar… el anterior lo publicó Rough Trade y en consecuencia lo distribuyeron los ...Sinnamones... en Spain.
