Buddy Guy - Skin Deep

Guy sounds like he's trying to tear things apart from the inside, which lends vigor and energy to numbers that are performed with just a shade too much preciseness. Thankfully, not all of Skin Deep is so clean, as the record opens up with a pair of dynamite collaborations with Robert Randolph – the stripped-down, swampy Delta blues "Out in the Woods" and the muscular "That's My Home." Guy also gets in a couple of good numbers with Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks -- there's also a duet with Eric Clapton on "Every Time I Sing the Blues," which slides into a too-comfortable slow groove -- and these are the moments when Skin Deep really clicks, as the songs spark and the band truly cooks. Elsewhere, the music slips toward the conventional, but at least it sounds like Guy is trying to reel it back in with that monstrous guitar, which can still sound wondrous. It's kind of fun to hear the accidental tension between Guy's guitar and the slick surfaces, but when he's paired with a band or production that matches his grit, Skin Deep is so good that it's hard not to wish the whole record sounded just like that

Primero escribí la canción “Ya no soy moderna”. Escribí esta canción que dice: ya no soy moderna, ahora quiero París porque estaba cansada de noches de hola y adiós. Esta canción es una canción protesta en realidad, pero no protesta de hermano americano o el mcdonald es mal, no. Es una queja macerada pero glamorosa, sin amenazas y con toda la valentía de la alegría. Espero que no tenga que cantar seria y vestida de negro para ser tomada en serio, porque no lo haré. ¡Avance la modernidad de ser profundos llenos de colores y sonrisas y reírnos de la pena que da la soledad toda! La modernidad ha calado hasta en las relaciones personales haciéndolas impersonales y decorativas. Estar cuatro años de novios y casarse o el agujerito en la sabana no es bien, pero dar besos antes de que nazcan o que la otra persona no te arrope cuando se levanta al baño, de repente, me pareció insuficiente para con la belleza y la vida, que hasta que digan lo contrario, no es más que una. Sólo una vida y demasiado hola y adiós y ahí te quedas y nos hemos acostado pero no me pidas una caricia antes de entrar en el taxi.
Eso, en cuanto a la canción. Y no es que diga que las mujeres necesitamos amor al final. Yo necesito amor, después de que se meta en mi cama tantas veces el no. Hablo por mí. Si alguien se identifica, hablaré por los dos o por las dos, pero no más; sin generalizar churri. Y luego, lo del título del disco es porque no creo que haya nada más moderno, más inspirador, más honesto, ahora, que no ser moderno. Has visitado y vivido en varios paises latinoamericanos.La portada del disco es para tomarla en serio. Yo no quise colgarlo pq pertenece a una edición limitada de 100 copias y me parecía hacerle una faena al sello, pero bueno... ya que se ha filtrado... DISFRÚTENLO!!!!

Definitivamente sí. He picado con el single estilo Fangoria, y me he descargado el cd, y…truñaco mayúsculo, salvo otra del mismo palo llamada "Cerezas y fresas".
Esta clase de cosas me recuerdan las dudas que me provocan tipas como Jeanette o Ornella Vanoni, de las que he escuchado un par de temazos pero no tengo arrestos para bajarme un disco entero. -

Filmworks es una serie de trabajos que Zorn ha creado, a lo largo de los años, en los que se muestra sus creaciones para el cine tanto para el género documental (Protocols Of Zion, Workingman's Death, Trembling Before g-d), el cine experimental (In tHe Mirror Of Maya Deren, etc) y sus composiciones para directores japoneses (donde Zorn muestra su amor hacia esa bonita y sana práctica del SM y el bondage nipón).
