Mikaela´s Fiend "We Can Driving Machine"

The Alps - III (Type, 2008)
@3djljdb2:
Although ‚III’ might be the third album from San Francisco trio The Alps it marks their first studio-based record and a fresh direction for the psychedelic supergroup. Made up of Tarentel mainman Jefre Cantu-Ledesma, ex-Tussle member Alexis Georgopoulos (better known as ARP) and Troll member Scott Hewicker there is a deft amount of skill on display as the three rip through eight tracks of sizzling spiritual bliss. Comparisons here are easy to bring up – Popol Vuh, Ennio Morricone and Serge Gainsbourg spring to mind for starters as the band toss and tangle through thick drum breaks and reverberating sun-drenched guitar lines.
‚III’ feels like a lost soundtrack to some crumbling Italian surrealist classic with its pounding basslines and swirling synthesizers. This is visual music, inspired by the likes of Werner Herzog, Alejandro Jordorowsky and Michaelangelo Antonioni, but what results is far more than a pastiche. Rather the trio have concocted a record which while being aware of its sprawling influences is far more than the sum of its parts. The finest excesses of progressive rock and the leanest intricacies of the psychedelic folk scene have been splashed together with a distinct dusty funk overlook to produce something which is totally out of time. Free from some half baked scene or other this is the result of three musicians doing exactly what they want.
‚III’ has taken a plethora of sounds and crumbled them into something altogether beguiling. From the distant supernaturalism of ‚Trem Fantasma’ to the Terry Riley influenced bliss of ‚Pink Light’ The Alps show us that there’s more to pyschedelia than meets the eye.

Boduf Songs - How Shadows Chase The Balance [2008/Kranky]
@3vvjg7vg:
The second full length release from this uk resident follows his Lion Devours the Sun album from late 2006 on kranky. A lot of artists are described as "outsiders" or "underground", but with Mathew Sweet this is actually an apt description as he belongs to no ’scene’ and is working on the farthest fringes of the ’music business’.
On his second full length release, How The Shadows Chase The Balance, Mathew Sweet uses the same formula that he has employed previously; one microphone, one acoustic guitar, a few random instruments, a couple of field recordings, and a deft, understated touch with the mixing process. He locked himself away in his home studio (to be honest, his bedroom) and no one else heard a single note until he was finished.
Musically the album is akin to Iron & Wine/M Ward with the themes of death, alienation, fear, hatred and isolation that are his forte, as well as his affinity for gothic imagery.
If you listen closely you can hear small bits of rain hitting the window, and cars sliding by on wet roads. The final result is one of the most unassuming, and engaging recordings of the year. It is intimate, extremely personal, and spectral in presence.

Cold War Kids - Loyalty to Loyalty (2008)
http://rapidshare.com/files/145105330/CWKLTL_Vic.zip@wubqnlbe:
Just as many were overjoyed to see the Cold War end up in the dustbin of history, so too would certain music fans like to see the Cold War Kids call it a day. The Los Angeles area band's 2006 debut, Robbers & Cowards, seemed to garner the Cold War Kids just as many detractors, if not more, than fans. But the band soldiers on with sophomore set Loyalty to Loyalty, remaning loyal to its regular guy rock sound. Think a watered down National, which many already think of as a watered down Joy Division, which is why many find nothing original to like in this band. Not helping on that front: the songs "Golden Gate Jumpers" and "Welcome to the Occupation." The first mines territory already visited by Sleater-Kinney on that band's song "Jumpers," while the second, although sharing a title with an R.E.M. classic, apparently is not a cover. With all this, it's quite bold that the last track on the album is named "Cryptomnesia," which is a mental disorder in which people attribute others' ideas to themselves.

A ver qué tal suena.

Ejemplo: The Aluminum Group. No sé, a mi no me parece tan mala postura... -
