  • Deerhoof - Offend Maggie [2008/ATP/Kill Rock Stars]

    @30ma46r5:

    "Perhaps the most critically-acclaimed art-rock band of this decade, Deerhoof continue their amazing musical evolution on their new album "Offend Maggie". Featuring new guitarist Ed Rodriquez, the album is a more streamlined affair than the maximalism of 'Friend Opportunity', the songs grooving and loose in the vein of 'Apple O' or 'Reveille'. The band continues to press forward, with Satomi's fractured lyrics matching the band's kaleidoscopic take on post-millennial pop music."

  • Habéis comentado algo del refrito del "Isn't Anything"? Es que he escuchado un par y… bueno, que la verdad es que no sé cuánto dinero se habrán gastado para remasterizarlo pero no le veo mucha lógica, o eso o quizá mi oído esté algo artrítico

  • Koufax – Strugglers

    @2zhy3lqy:

    Simply put, Koufax’s Strugglers is “indie pop for the Police-State Generation.” The words indie pop and police-state may sound like they don’t belong in the same sentence. Just listen to the album, though, and it’ll make sense.

  • asva - what you don't know is frontier

    Southern Records

    4 tracks 69 minutes. A lyricless album of immense personal meaning to its creator. Cathartic doom at its most breathtakingly beautiful. A rare treat.

    http://www.megaupload.com/es/?d=S3KF3ICT

    @1cwfc9ts:

    Helmed by Stuart Dahlquist, formerly of Burning Witch, Goatsnake and Sunn0))), and recorded with the cream of the Pacific North West's rich musical talent, including members of Burning Witch, Mr. Bungle and Earth. This is a lyricless album of immense personal meaning to its creator, giving a very real sense of catharsis for both listener and performers alike. But there's also real hope and resolution at its core.

    “Like Carl Orff covering Winter It reminds me of the first time I heard Mozart’s Requiem, or Gould’s Goldberg Variations. The music has a punishing sort of beauty, an inflicted aesthetics that hands the hearer no choice. “
    —Stewart Voegtlin (Oaken Throne zine)

    “What You Don't Know Is Frontier is about rebirth… about that light at the end of the tunnel. Amen.”
    — Stuart Dahlquist

    the rosebuds - life like (merge, 2008)

    indie pop tipo new pornographers.

    yo soy muy fan de estos tipos, y me parece su mejor disco. Lo produce BON IVER.

  • lo del casitone es un poco timo no? ya se que es un Ep, pero nose, 4 temas, de esos dos son instrumentales cortos (menos de dos minutos), uno de ellos ed un tema del anterior disco, y de las otras dos una es una versión… nose.

    Como está el de los deerhoof nenes?

    Muy recomendable

    The Dead Science - Villainaire (Constellation) 2008

    El anterior disco y el Split con Xiu xiu me gustaron bastante, son un poco del palo… Postpunk / Pop / experimental / jazz-rock... donde lo he pillado dice que para fans de Shudder To Think, Scott Walker, Deerhoof, Xiu Xiu, Blonde Redhead and/or US Maple así que vosotros mismos…
