¡Qué grande! Todavía recuerdo el concierto donde pillé una turca por no haber cenado y haberme tomado una birra, dos cubatas que la camarera sirvió mal y me regaló y un chupito de Jagermeister, todo esto mientras una austríaca feísima me perseguía y los chicos tocaban.
¡Bien por pulpo! De toda la hornada ésta de deep funk, los Bamboos son mis favoritos. Y el concierto que comenta greychaos en la 2 me pareció acojonante.
Os dejo un disco que sacaron algunos miembros de los Bamboos en 2007 con versiones de pepinazos de funk, latin, jazz-funk, etc. etc. por si a alguien le interesa. Hay algún tema que vale mucho la pena y lo curioso es que utilizaron un pseudónimo distinto para cada canción:

dicen de ellos: como si Blondie tuvieran cojones. A mí me gusta la descripción y Pégame en la disco o Madre Soltera, me parecen temazos de la vida. Sólo son 30 megas (creo que está ripeado de un vinilo, así que no sé como sonará), darles una oportunidad

Fred Frith - To Sail, To Sail (Tzadik, 2008)

This is my favorite Frith album, much preferred to his earlier compositions this year. This is a balance of a lot of things, from Bailey tangents to Fahey patterns. Frith is a phenomenal player, but here his ideas fuse to emotions, and you get an album of almost all solo guitar that is sort of jazz, very free, compositional at times, and many more things. Frith is such an established player that no long introduction is needed, but I would say that if you're looking for a 2008 record, and a good way to get into Fred, this is the album.

Vessels are a 5-piece Leeds based band who have just finished recording their debut album, White Fields and Open Devices. Vessels forge together their influences of post-rock, math-rock, electronica and indie into a disparate but cohesive mix. They have been compared to bands as diverse as Talk Talk, Battles, Mogwai, I Was A Cub Scout and Broken Social Scene. Their incendiary live set, which utilises a great understanding of light and shade, has won them many fans. Radio support has been shown by Huw Stephens (for whom a session was recorded), Stuart Maconie, Steve Lamacq, The Organ and John Kennedy.

Lauded singer/songwriter, Ray LaMontagne is set to release his much-anticipated third album, Gossip In The Grain, on October 14th on RCA Records. Recorded with returning producer, Ethan Johns in Box, England, and touching upon a range of styles and musical settings- spanning pastoral folk, railroad blues, front porch country, and plangent balladry - Gossip In The Grain proves to be his most creative and emotionally expansive collection to date. Whereas LaMontagne's two previous albums, 'Trouble' and 'Till The Sun Turns Black', were largely solo affairs, with Johns serving as multi-tasking instrumentalist, Gossip In The Grain sees him joined by members of his touring band, bassist Jennifer Condos and guitarist Eric Heywood (with Johns largely handling drum duties). últimamente a las bandas les está dando con Bruegel (no sé si la imágen del de Chesnutt es del pintor holandés, pero tiene una estética y un rollo turbador similar), bien bien, mucho mejor que el fluor de los cojones.
