Matt Elliott - Howling Songs

http://rapidshare.com/files/154737339/MEHS_Vic.zip ```@2yig83fp: > To succeed to "Drinking songs", because it’s really about songs, "Failing songs" turns Matt Elliott into a true songwriter. He assumes completely his voice and sings very personal and dark texts (that we can find for the first time inside the booklet.) Songs whose subtle melodies contrast with the hardness of the words because "Failing songs" is a hard failure report. Between despair and cold anger, the texts talk about the liberal military evolution of the world that the author rejects. The Titles are as sublime as melancholic, bitter and sad, impressed by Slavic music, Greek, and besides, sometimes punctuated of Spanish guitars (the guitar which is from now the instrument of predilection, omnipresent although often combined with the violoncello’s languor). > > "Howling songs" is the magnificent third and last part to the "songs trilogy". We are back to this slavonic tune, without any definite frontier, whose only and constant heritage finds its roots in European music. This is a very haunted and personal piece of music which is the testimony of a unique talent where moving melodies follow other moving melodies balancing between ballad songs and folk music, madness and reason, revolt and despair. "Howling songs" sympathises with the surrounding world, it is a definitive observation in which one can feel, throughout the songs, an outraged sensitivity which is the signature of the artist. It is all the more sensitive that Matt’s voice is sometimes present without any chorus in the background, bringing to the whole both confidence and unquestionable heat. > > "Howling songs" is, without a doubt, the most introspective album by Matt Elliott and the one which carries best his musical personality. > > And by the way, a new album by The Third Eye Foundation is to be released in 2009 Y esto último que dice la release note me pone una sonrisa de oreja a oreja. -
The Miserable Rich - 12 Ways To Count (2008)
@7gbaf0rm:
Taking the name from an experience they’d had playing at the wedding of two ultra-rich aristocrats in Rome, and musical inspiration from “Say you don’t mind” by ex-Zombies singer Colin Blunstone and the Balanescu’s super-cool orchestral covers of Krafwerk, James De Malplaquet and Will Calderbank decided to form The Miserable Rich - a chamber quintet to play their modern songs.
Recording as they developed their sound, the pair recruited fellow Shoreliner Mike Siddell (Lightspeed Champion, Kate Walsh, ex-Hope of the States) on violin, Lindsey Oliver (Kate Walsh, the Mummers) on double-bass, and Jim Briffett (Clearlake) on guitar. The album, 12 Ways To Count, was recorded at de Malplaquet’s house in Hove as the band formed over the summer of 2007.http://rapidshare.com/files/154601885/The_Miserable_Rich_-_12_Ways_To_Count__2008_.zipque viva el otoño…

Fabio Orsi - Audio For Lovers 2xCD
@35sxtn58:
Fabio Orsi (collaborator on last year's 'Wildflower's under the sofa') returns with a double disc effort that is at once a highly satisfying 2 hour entry in the ambient genre. Although LVD's catalog often leans toward noiser, less melodic works, Audio for lovers shows both the same modernistic and minimal sensibilities that we've heard from Fabio in the past, while also drawing on the earlier, atmospheric work by Eno, which is to say that the album does precisely what most of us would like out of an ambient work. The tracks are highly melodic and memorable, the nature of the music is experimental enough (at least in theory) that I think a lot of fans of the label will enjoy it, and most importantly, the environments created here will please just about everyone–this might even be the LVD release to please your non-LVD listening acquaintances. Purchase the soundtrack to your new life today!

Paul Metzger - Gedanken Splitter (Roaratorio, 2008)

@35sxtn58:
Paul Metzger continues to pile up the plaudits from critics and peers alike for his virtuosic string-slinging, gaining notice through his CD on Chairkickers and his split LP with Ben Chasny and Chris Corsano on Roaratorio. Metzger’s modified banjo is tricked out with additional sympathetic raga strings, although the compositions on Gedanken Splitter are informed by much more than Eastern drone music alone. Recorded in the same period as 2007’s Deliverance on Locust Music, this is a more jagged and aggressive (although no less accessible) affair. Metzger winds these improvisations around thornier threads than on his previous releases, and while never turning completely abstract, Gedanken Splitter moves even further away from anything resembling typical banjo fare. This is mesmerizing and singular playing.
