el EP de Mount Eerie me parece catastrófico. lo he venido escuchando de vuelta del trabajo y lo he aguantado entero porque no me ha cogido ni un semáforo en rojo para poder cambiar de disco. le quitas el lo-fi, limpias un poco el sonido (que me parece más o menos interesante) y se parecería a los primeros discos de lagwagon (sí, lagwagon). me da igual lo que signifique este disco. me parece una patochada de principio a fin.

Pues que quieres que te diga, a mi el disco me gusta bastante, en especial el 1 tema, el tio este es un genio, hace y deshace, y le ha picado por hacer ahora un disco más duro, más HC? "metal" como dice el citado, jajaja, pues plim plam, y lo hace a su manera, claro suena raro de cojones viniendo de él, ya no huele a lo-fi y a lo que nos tenía acostumbrado, pero bueno, después hay gente que se quejan de los grupos que no quieren explorar otros sonidos o probar por otros caminos, nose si seguirá por este camino o si ha sido una cosa puntual, una rabieta o lo que sea, pero no me parece tan grave, yo prefiero su sonido lo-fi, más experimental, más d estar por casa, pero… a la 1 escucha he flipado, (y esto?, me lo han cambiado?), pero a las siguientes me he metido y me ha gustado...

no sé… a mí esto no me sirve ni de anécdota. esperaba una cosa mucho más interesante que esto y no una pamplina así. de todos modos, a este tipo parece que hay que consentirle cosas como éstas. se la suda bastante lo que se espere de él y seguirá haciendo lo que le dé la gana (eso es bueno). ¿para qué sulfurarse?

The Microphones' 2001 windswept epic The Glow Pt. 2 is, with love to Cody ChesnuTT, a true headphone masterpiece.

The disc– which some website called its favorite album of that particular year-- was a triumph for young Phil Elverum (then calling himself Phil Elvrum), who somehow managed to encapsulate the unique beauty of the Pacific Northwest in Pt. 2's crackling sonics and delicate homespun songcraft. So if your copy's as well-worn as mine (damn coffee cup rings) or if you're curious to hear just what was setting Pitchfork's ears aflame around the turn of the millennium, you need only wait until April 8. That's when K Records will issue an expanded version of The Glow Pt. 2 on two CDs and three LPs.

Two CDs? Three LPs? Wasn't that album long enough already? Not for Phil, who has added a bonus disc of previously unreleased material to the set for the reissue, turning a hefty 20 tracks into a colossal 40. Say goodbye to the fire-stompin' elephant on the original cover, as there's brand new art as well. As with anything from Camp Elverum, even if you don't listen to the music, the packaging alone generally justifies the cost. And you should listen to this album, because it's really, really beautiful.

Auburn Lull - Begin Civil Twilight (Darla, 2008)

Auburn Lull are a dream pop/space rock band from the East Lansing, Michigan area and are in fact the Michigan space rock scene's core. Begin Civil Twilight is Auburn Lull's third and best album and the first completely self-produced album by "The Lull". Imagine The Moody Blues produced by Eno, if Slowdive originally wrote and recorded Surrealistic Pillow, or perhaps Seefeel on a good sedative/hypnotic. Fellow dream popper Ulrich Schnauss mixed one track and did treatments on two others.

Auburn Lull is guitarists Sean Heenan, Jason Kolb, Eli Wekenman, and drummer Jason Wiesinger. The quartet came together out of a shared affection for bands like Seefeel, Flying Saucer Attack, Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, and the 4AD and Creation Records aesthetic.

In 1997, the band released the Dual Group EP, a split release with Mahogany, which John Peel played on his BBC radio program. Their debut full-length debut Alone I Admire was initially released on local independent record label Burnt Hair in 1999, sold out, and was then reissued by Darla Records in 2002. Their second record Cast From The Platform (Darla) was released in 2004. Regions Less Parallel: Early Works And Rarities 1996-2004, which compiles band's highly collectible singles, EPs and stray compilation tracks plus two previously unreleased tracks was released by Darla in 2005.

Auburn Lull are planning to tour in support of Begin Civil Twilight in 2008.

Aunque parezca increible (especialmente siendo megafan de Hood) no conocía la existencia de The Boats, proyecto de Craig Tattersall (ex-hood y parte de Remote Viewer) y Andrew R Hargreaves.
El mes pasado publicaron un disco ultra limitado a 200 copias (ya vendidas, por supuesto) llamado "Our small ideas". Los que conozcais otros proyectos de Craig (para los que no, recomendaros los dos maravillosos discos como The Famous Boyfriend) ya sabéis que esperaros: montón de ruiditos y vocales susurradas. El disco aún no lo he escuchado, pero por lo que se escucha en el myspace tienen muy buena pinta.

Another sublime hand-packaged release from The Boats, this time inaugurating their bespoke "Our Small Ideas" offshoot, a label dedicated to one-off transmissions and objects of desire for followers of skewed laptop folk and bedroom pop everywhere. "Our Small Ideas" also sees a slight change of personnel in The Boats lineup, with the addition of Chris Stewart providing vocals on a number of tracks, replacing Elaine Reynolds who featured on the first couple of releases. The production here is just heart-warmingly lovely, a fragile arrangement of thumb piano, Xylophone, Melodica, broken toy instruments, laptop and acoustic guitar creating a warm aural glow that works especially well on the misleadingly titled "A Party at Break-Neck Speed", displaying all the old-time mystery and crackle you could possibly imagine, with a Melodica, Xylophone and Guitar playing through a sheath of hiss and skewed sounds that are almost too lovely for words. "At Little Time" is equally beguiling, with the background accompaniment of what can only be described as an abandoned dictaphone ebbing and whirring alongside the most melancholy, sparkling xylophone you'll have heard in some time. "Our Small Ideas" is the most bewitching Boats album since 2005's lovely "We Made It For You" and will make for the perfect musical accompaniment for those dense winter evenings and misty early hours.

Que hijos de… los Emulos, han puesto bajo este nombre otro disco que he oído alguna que otra vez y no se de quien es... el caso es que me mola!!! Hasta en el tracklist se han copiado y han añadido la carátula de estos!! menos mal que existe Myspace para poder comparar....

En fin, que nos han tomado el pelo... ¿O no? yo que se....
