Jeremy Jay - Love Everlasting EP

It was winter outside and something was happening in the storybook world of Jeremy Jay’s psyche. While working on his upcoming full-length "Slow Dance" [KLP197] (to be released in spring ’09), there was an icicle-caked excitement that resulted in a snow-flurry of extra recordings. The cozy, insulated vibe of Olympia, Washington and Dub Narcotic Studio took hold and Jeremy, along with Ilya Malinksy (guitar), Nick Pahl (drums) and Derek James (bass) crafted "Love Everlasting" [KLP202] a separate 12"single.

en una primera escucha y salvando un par de temas, es un tostón insoportable este disco de los Circus Devils. Pero claro, sacando 4 ó 5 discos al año, normal que alguno sea una cagarruta.

Mountains is Brendon Anderegg and Koen Holtkamp, the cofounders of aperstaaje ( www.staartje.com ) a record label they build, and they have already released the first two albums of the band. “Choral” is on Thrill Jockey. Recorded by the duo entirely in the winter and spring of 2008 at home in Brooklyn, Choral is largely live and performed in real time, with only a few overdubs to create a more “choral” effect. This is a clever drone. Ambient music fulfilled with atmospheric sounds. The sound of the band reminds me Fennesz or Growing. They clearly use strings and they produce fantastic sounds. It is a fully experimental experience as they record strange ambient sounds and they add sweet melodies of the guitars as much as we need to. Water drops, thunderstorms and pages from books produce some ambient sounds over there. They guide us to a psychedelic trip through the music and over the samples and the strange sounds. Their ambient is really intelligent and this album is a masterpiece of ambient drone music, although they use acoustic guitars in some parts. It can be classic. You must listen to it if you like ambient music. It is both electronic and string orientated. It is a mix of sounds, cultures and technologies. It is a music story. Coastline, by the sea with your eyes closed, the sun hit you on the face, your skin is red, the breeze makes you feel good, some drops from the sea refresh you and your mind is over the clouds, your mind sings in a choral… you mind is over the mountains…

Stephen O’ Malley "Keep an eye out"
@2bxz9cd2:This single from Sunn 0)))’s founder O’ Malley is a mini trip to a dirty sump of coal tar. 12 minutes of guitar drones and other experimental sounds which deform the string sounds. This guy never stops. I kneel in front of his guitar. He is the master of drone doom. This track is an ambient brain corrosive machine… no more words.

cuando escucheis el de los dirty projectors decir algo, a mi cuando se ponen más pop estandar me molan mucho, pero cuando rarunan mucho no los soporto. Ya direis que versión dirtyprojectiana ofrece el disco.

reggae psicodélico con olor a garage producido por Geoff Barrow. todavía tengo que escuchar el disco completo con calma, pero no pinta mal.

si te digo que tiene más protagonismo la bajista mona en algunas canciones?
en el disco hay magníficos juegos vocales de las 2 chicas, ritmos hipnóticos, guitarras Africanas, Rhythm and blues, pop marciano, en resumen dirty projectors en estado puro. Tengo que escuchar más pero pinta muy bien
