Clue To Kalo - Lily Perdida

Satisfyingly schizophrenic, Clue To Kalo’s third full-length release Lily Perdida is ten voices in one, all of them a different branch off the same electric folk tree. Amidst jangly guitar, mod ribbons of flute, and the voices of mastermind Mark Mitchell and duet partner Ellen Carey, ten musical perspectives on fictional character Lily Perdida emerge, each song from the point of view of a different person in her life. A post-modern frolic of keyboards, harpsichords and laptops, Lily Perdida is a gorgeous and sonically sprawling commentary on the nature of history and identity. Each succeeding track reinterprets, misreads or conflicts with the accounts that came before to collectively create an anti-portrait of the main character. The music ebbs and flows with the changing characters but never strays from the utterly satisfying sound we have come to expect from Clue To Kalo.

In the time since their sophomore album in 2002, The Moon Boys, Iran have seen their guitarist, Kyp Malone, find success with another indie-rock band, TV on the Radio. But the band’s ready, with Malone in tow, to make their long awaited return in 2009 with Dissolver, their third album and first in almost seven years.
Dissolver is promised to expand the sonic palette of Iran’s bedroom noise rock twiddling (they recorded their first albums on a four-track) into a lusher sound, and epic sounding first single “Buddy” would seem to bear that out.
Lead singer and songwriter Aaron Aites, like on Iran’s previous efforts, handles all of the songwriting, with Malone and guitarist Aaron Romanello providing the music, and TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek reportedly lends a producing hand on some of the tracks.

llevo escuchados 52 segundos del disco, pero parece que iran han pegado un volantazo de la polla. ¡esto es indie-rock limpito y facilón! voy a recuperar yo también el 'the moon boys' porque mi memoria no me deja encajar esto.
