Sometimes a record can be simply overwhelming. Not necessarily a bad thing but when you have to sit down and write about a record being overwhelmed does not facilitate a quick post. Those nice people at Riot Season sent me this at the same time as the excellent Black Boned Angel’s Verdum, but it’s taken me another week to come to terms with this record and try to write something sensible about it. If you have already heard Shit and Shine’s Cherry then you know a little of what you are in for, but I’ll warn you at the outset 229 2299 Girls Aginst Shit is a much more difficult record.Shit and Shine 2009 are still the ugly, violent, sociopathic stepchild of noise-rock, but they may have gone off their meds.
As per usual, Shit and Shine on record are a very different beast to their live incarnation. The production never allows the songs to find their way out of a morose of fuzz and mud yet somehow it works well. The whole thing kicks of with the epic, stonking, rock-pig groove of the first track, have you really thought about your presentation, which has to be the best rock and roll song in the world this minute. I kid you fucking not. USA/MEXICO is what Harry Pussy would have sounded like had they been a black metal band with a Ween fixation. Yep that good. Yes 910! could be spacerock if it somehow had a scab that was being picked at. There’s an industrial, Wolf Eyes vibe about Pissing on a Shed and a left field take on early 1990’s hardcore on Robert’s Church Problem. How a record this full-on doesn’t take itself so seriously shows just how much fun noise-rock can be but I had to listen to two days worth of Stars of the Lid in a an attempt to make ammends with my ears.http://rapidshare.com/files/267165470/sht_shn_-__229_2299_-_grls_gnst_sht_.rar -

Aquí se filtran y recomiendan muchas cosas, básicamente este foro es eso, y luego, dos veces al año, también es el del festival este, primavera creo que se llama, con lo que posts desmesurados para recomendar cosas así, pues como que fastidia.
Estoy seguro que nadie se quejaría si hiciera lo mismo con una sola foto (de tamaño aceptable) y uno o dos parágrafos descriptivos. -

hablando un poco de todo, vaya pepinacos que tiene el de Calvin Harris, y por lo visto, debe haber por ahí problemas de que llegue a tiendas en Europa, ya que no encuentran discográficas para distribuirlo

Zak Sally - Fear Of Song [2009/La Mano 21]

So, here we have his self-released solo bow, Zak Sally Presents Fear of Song, financed in part by Sally's eBay sales of Low album art. Though Fear of Song doesn't go anywhere near as avant-garde as its title might suggest, it does make me feel like transposing a Jay-Z ad-lib in saying that it's from the real garage, not the "garage" garage. Fear of Song is wires-exposed and seams-showing, with an immediacy that pleasantly suggests the lot of it was freshly mastered about five minutes before it got put on disc. In fact, it's worth seeing Fear as what got skimmed from The Great Destroyer on the way to the frighteningly austere Drums and Guns.
Fear of Song is almost equally split between waltz-timed but aggressively strummed acoustics and distortion. "Why We Hide" recalls Low's "California" given a lo-fi makeover with Sally's everydude voice (think Phoenix's Thomas Mars subbing angst for ennui) fighting for air amongst bleating organ and handclaps. The guitars of "St(r)utter" shriek with teeth-grinding treble while the mix is defaced with streaks of noise, and on the opposite end, "How I Did What I Did When I Did It" humidifies Johnny Marr-styled ringing chords with sticky reverb. The tension peaks in "My Secret World", kept stationary by Sally's laconic sneer and a wishlist of lyrics delivered via the urgency of Violent Femmes'

Creo que solo salvaría el single con Dizzie Rascal y tampoco es nada del otro mundo.Por otro lado, esto no se si lo recomende en su dia pero sino esta es una buena oportunidad de que los descubrais. La prensa no les da la misma bola que a Noze, Joakim u otros pero creo que no son inferiores a ninguno. Bueno, de Noze lo mismo si.... Este tema es puro groove

totalmente de acuerdo, lo venía escuchando esta mañana y me ha parecido flojo flojo. El anterior era bastante irregular, pero le salvaban los jitazos. Pero este..brf… le daré un par de escuchas más, pero de primeras, no engancha, y eso, para un disco de este tipo, es mala señal!

La ultima vez que pinché cerré con semejante temón y canela fina. De este rollo molan dOP protegidos de NOZE pero con algunas cosas impresionantes, a medio camino entre kalabrese, noze y quince… un rollo profundo pero housero erotico festivo.

El de Calvin Harris es muy flojito. Como apunta lelaina, al primero lo salvaban los 4 hits de turno, pero a éste ya no (es que no los hay, vamos)
Ale, retrovisor a saco. Esto es la mezcla original del "Welcome to the monkey house" (o cómo quería la banda que sonara el disco frente a lo que la discográfica acabó llevando a su terreno) de los Dandy Warhols, que salió a la luz hace un mes. Hay dos caras b añadidas.

The band has later stated that they will go in to the studio and record the song after Michael Jackson's passing. The promise was made with the release of the cover of Blackbird on July 31, 2009, two weeks after the release of The Dandy Warhols are Sound.
