Ratas Del Vaticano bring to mind fast-n-scuzzy remnants of Desechables or Crime, though "Tema de las Ratas" sounds like an amazing wedding between Psychedelic Underground-era Amon Duul and the Monks at their most primal."Olvido" almost has some sinister Euro-Eastern leads you'd expect on some prime early Plastic People stuff. But in general, they set their controls on pure punk.

Another excellent contemporary psych monster from Shdwply, rapidly becoming one of VT's favourite imprints. The Super Vacations take off on the whole Gary War style of F/X-occluded psych/pop mutants, creating a form of modern psychedelia that has nothing to do with loon-pants but is as brain-rearranging and specifically drug-keyed as anything on the International Artists label. The Super Vacations have a weird, refracted garage/surf guitar sound that's somewhat akin to alla them great groups on the Pebbles surf set The Pyramids, The Fantastic Baggies, etc if they hadda re-grouped in a secret basement sometime in the 90s and re-connected to the freak tradition via Royal Trux (with a guitar sound specifically keyed to Neil Hagerty circa Bad Blood), electric Jandek and classic teenage stones like The Bachs, 13th Floor Elevators, Bubble Puppy, et al. Another beautifully muzzy trip through teenage USA from Shdwply. Highly recommended

RTFO Bandwagon - Dums Will Survive [Dull Knife 2009]

Catchy homemade lo-fi folksy pop with country leanings from Columbus, Ohio. Their sound has the same sort of nonchalant greatness that reminds me of Thee Oh Sees, Women, or Woods Family Creeps. Maybe a little Elephant 6 in there too. The album is only 7 tracks, which is unfortunate because I want more. A must get for my vinyl collection as well. I'd imagine these guys would put on a killer hootenanny.

antes de leer tu post desconocía siquiera que se podían bautizar bandas combinando semejantes palabros, pero solo leyendo las influencias de cada grupo, estos discos se han de escuchar por narices. ¿Amon Duul mezclado con los Monks? sí, quiero. Gracias, Zack.
