  • Yo también estoy contento con el de Ducktails, me ha gustado bastante.

    Y Pfister, si no queréis ver otra portada tipo la de Maurici, yo acepto diseños para nuestro disco, jaja, estilo libre total. Espero serviroslo por aquí a final de mes y el nombre ya está decidido:

    Por cierto que me han gustado bastante las canciones de Maurici, bien chulo que está el ep, independientemente de la portada, claro.

Division Day will see the release of their much-anticipated sophomore full-length, Visitation, on August 18. The album was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen (NIN/Beck/Gnarls Barkley) and mixed by Todd Burke (Ben Harper/The Rumble Strips/Idlewild). The follow up to 2007’s Beartrap Island, Visitation finds the band steering confidently into darker territory, marrying synthetic and organic textures in songs about death, transformation, and the devil.

    Formed while still in school, the band self-released Beartrap Island in 2006. Division Day took to the road, touring the west coast relentlessly, making a splash at CMJ, where they caught the ears of The New York Times, leading to a commercial release the following year. Response to the record was tremendous, garnering excellent reviews, and nationwide tours. Some excellent words about Beartrap Island:

    Snow Blindness Is Crystal Antz será enteramente instrumental y contendrá tanto sonidos digitales como de aparatos analógicos vintage o sintetizadores casero, adornados con la calidez acústica que Van Gaalen domina tan bien.

    Squarepusher’s excursions as a solo bass virtuoso will be immortalised with the forthcoming release of 'Solo Electric Bass 1', out on August 17th on Limited CD and Digital.

    This live recording was taken from one of his spellbinding solo bass performances at Cité de la Musique, Paris in September 2007. A performance that only consists of Squarepusher on stage with a bass and a small amp.

    It should be noted that the recording of this bare live show has been represented in its truest form ie. in one take with no editing afterwards. All compositions on this record are his own.

    This strictly limited release is a rare documentation for fans of the 'pusher and anyone who wishes to explore some highly interesting, and technically astounding compositions with the bass guitar. Anyone who has witnessed him live will already know of his mesmerising unique style which he incorporates into his big production live shows.

    Squarepusher’s progression to this pure musical form has always been hinted at in his recording work prior to this release; with instrumental tracks on Ultravisitor such as 'I Fulcrum' and 'Andrei', the jazz trio sets of his 2005 UK tour and his first solo bass performance in Turin the same year alongside the London Sinfonietta, as time has gone on Tom Jenkinson – Squarepusher - has voiced his exploration of this expression more and more culminating in a small European tour in 2007 which included a sold out headline performance at the Royal Festival Hall

    A few years ago Peter was kind enough to send Type a package of all his material prior to writing ‘Float’. This came in the form of two CDRs, lovingly hand-labelled ‘4 Track Songs’. Recorded to tape using only a cheap microphone, Peter assembled these tracks as and when they came to his head. From delicate piano improvisations to fully fledged songs more reminiscent of ‘Home’ this is a charming and heart-warming portal into Peter’s early creative process. More than that though, these songs are so defiant in their hazy, lo-fi beauty that they stand on their own as pieces that can never possibly be repeated.
