no-wave entre las raincoats, quix-o-tic y las primeras ESG. los temas tienen enganche, dulzura, misterio y sentido del ritmo. prometedoras.

digamos que los temas del anterior discos son posteriores a los de este ya que basicamente son temas de las demos tal cual… los temas del single el ep y los 2 o 3 temas nuevos son relleno

ok, no sabía eso y por ahí se va a escapar el chaval. aún así, el nuevo disco me parece un fraude sin excusas. aprovechamos el tirón para colarle a la gente todo lo que tenemos en el cajón. completamente prescindible.

He leído por ahí que eso que se ha filtrado no es la versión definitiva de lo que será el nuevo disco de wavves en fat possum. El tracklist sería el siguiente:

Se añaden las dos canciones del EP Beach Demon/Weed Demon para quitar Jetplane y More Fur. Las nuevas son: To the Dregs y California Goths (que tienen cojones de ser Jetplane y More Fur con otro nombre xd).
Y aunque ya conocieramos las canciones, me gusta mucho más que el primero. Pensad que hay gente que no tenía ni idea de la existencia de las primeras canciones…

On the Ground is a record to listen to and absorb as we exit the gray days of winter. It records Peasant’s negotiation of gloomy emotions and difficult situations. Many have compared him to Elliot Smith, and he has to some extent ratified that comparison, but rather than misery, his less self-deprecating style tastes of bitter-sweetness. Songs like The Wind and Exposure tap into the lingering darkness of unspoken fears and doubts that distract our daily lives. As we contemplate these moody thoughts, our experiences and unclear abstractions are reified by Peasant’s words.

While N.A.S.A. stands for North America/South America and contains a number of superstar artists from both coasts of the US, it is about as far from a tension-building geographical showdown as a record can get. Rather, their Anti debut The Spirit of Apollo was born with the righteous goal of bringing people together through music and art, and that is exactly what masterminds Sam Spiegel (Squeak E. Clean) and Ze Gonzales (DJ Zegon) have done. Brazilian funk provides the roots of the songs and binds them together into a cohesive whole, but from there, the imagination behind The Spirit of Apollo ranges far and wide. Unexpected collaborations abound on the eighteen track release. Tom Waits growls over Kool Keith, Karen O taunts while Ol' Dirty Bastard gives shout-outs to Wu Tang and N.A.S.A from the grave, and David Byrne, Chuck D and others expound on the evils of "Money." In spite of the range of performers, the pairings seem organic, inspired and make perfect sense on the first listen, never coming off as ironic or impulsive.
