Gorgeous synth vistas on Steve Hauschildt's (Emeralds) Gneiss Things Le Révélateur is the nascent moniker of Roger Tellier-Craig, former guitarist with Godspeed You Black Emperor and Fly Pan Am. It's the sleek vehicle for his sumptuous synthesizer compositions, and while it may be labelled "ambient" it's certainly not sanguine. 'Fictions' is all about flight and glorious movements, of light through space, and sound through time. The 18 minute A-side 'Receiving Mirages' gradually ascends from ground level on wings of BoC-like synthesized flute flutters to plateau, hovering in the updraft before a second wind of more rhythmic patterns unfold below. These sprawl into majestic configurations of breathtaking quality, refracting into a gaseous rainbow spectrum of glistening hi's and burbling low-end pulses with exactly the sort of glorious intent GY!BE specialised in. B-side, 'Age Maze' deploys another of their signature structures, oscillating between pastoral shimmer and awe-inspiring crescendo with an astral navigators nose for arrangement, while 'Bleu Nuit' settles into a low-lying swirl of fluid, hyperreal synth textures lapping like oil and water in martian shallows. We could quite easily mistake these for prime Emeralds recordings, they're so lush.

me ha encantado encontrarme con nueva música de "Orcas" en Pitchfork. Orcas son Benoît Pioulard + Rafael Anton Irisarri y van a publicar un álbum para principios del año que viene via Morr Music. me parece una colaboración muy interesante y de la que habrá que estar atentos. seguro que Toxinho se va a poner contento cuando se entere.

Estoy que doy palmas con las orejas. La versión que tienen de Until Then es una de mis canciones favoritas del año aún siendo lo dolorosa que es pero estoy asnsioso por escuchar más material. El adelanto de Pitchfork suena muy magnético. Ganazas.
