Rhizomes is the debut full length from the all-female outfit, EFFI BRIEST. In the fall of 2008, Damien began a side project to run opposite to,
yet borrow from, the folk music leanings that he is known for. He
wanted to add a dark early 60’s garage feel to the songs. Infusing
this sound came easily with the addition of his younger brother,
Drake. With no musical experience other than high school choir (and
being mistaken for Damien on the phone) Drake took naturally to
drawing out the dark tales from the city where he was born. The songs
are compelling in story, but also pay tribute in feel to the real town
of Hoquiam -

Tanto con su antigua banda, Dusminguet, como ahora con La Troba Kung-Fú, Joan Garriga ha conseguido el casi milagro de lograr que un sonido latino y rumbero no acabe saliendo muerto y desalmado de un estudio. Lamentablemente, tener el público que tiene ha hecho que muchos/as sibaritas del género los hayan despreciado automáticamente, pero…ellos se lo pierden. Además, no tuve el placer de ver a los primeros en concierto, pero La Troba son una banda de nivelazo en directo, haciendo y cambiando lo que quieren con y de las canciones.

Los Dusminguet vivían en La Garriga okupando la casa pairal de mi familia. Grandísimos.
