Captured Tracks is proud to offer the debut album from Frank(just Frank) from Paris, France entitled 'The Brutal Wave' out on Brooklyn's Wierd Records. 'The Brutal Wave' draws from many rich traditions of guitardriven wave, minimal synth, and new indie music from Brooklyn respectively - layering lush washes of atmospheric anglophilic guitars that invoke early REM, Smiths, or the Cocteau Twins above a minimal synth and drum machine fueled backdrop with the caustic intensity of A Place to Bury Strangers, the wavey sounds of Crystal Stilts or The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, and the sweeping melancholia of The Depreciation Guild. Equally of disparate origins are the band members themselves: Chris was born in New Jersey and grew up with half-Indian Kirti in Nice in the South of France, although both were schooled in London. Despite such varied influences and backgrounds, Frank Just Frank is based in France, and indeed proudly embrace and present a newly moderized version of the highly-overlooked tradition of early 80’s moody French pop known at the time as the Cold Wave, or ‘La Vague Froide’.

aparece hoy reseñado en tiny mix tapes y en una escucha muy por encima suena como el diablo. espeso, pesado, saturadísimo, cazurro… como godflesh en versión punki y hardcore. tienen una pinta exagerada.

Gracias por ambos. El single que sacaron el año pasado Three Mile Pilot estaba bastante bien (incluía Planets y Grey Clouds, que veo que están en el disco). A ver qué tal el disco. Además han empezado, de nuevo, a dar conciertos por USA.

Brian Wilson – Brian Wilson Reimagines Gershwin**El genio de los Beach Boys sigue en activo y a pesar de sus eternos problemas mentales siguen sorprendiendo. Su disco “Brian Wilson Reimagines George Gershwin” se publicará en agosto. Contendrá versiones del fabuloso compositor tales como: "Summertime", "I've Got Rhythm", "They Can't Take That Away From Me", "Someone to Watch Over Me" y "I Loves You Porgy".
Asimismo habra nuevas composiciones realizadas a partir de la música que Gershwin dejó inacabada antes de morir. Se pondrá a la venta el 17 de agosto, aunque una edición en vinilo llegará a las tiendas una semana más tarde.
En el LP se incluyen dos otras canciones que Brian Wilson montó a partir de la música que Gershwin dejó sin terminar, "The Like in I Love You" y "Nothing But Love".
