  • @juepucta:2rqnqfeb:

    Del lado del charco donde están Uds ya se puede escuchar en Spotify, pero para los que no puedan, acá les dejo un preview de lo nuevo de REM http://link.brightcove.com/services/pla ... 3579449001

    Está bueno este Collapse Into Now.

    maritime - human hearts (dangerbird, 2011)

    http://www.filesonic.com/file/128000571/Maritime_-_Human_Hearts_(2011)_[MP3]_SO_3443106.rar

    ```@qsgdmlb4:
    > On April 5, 2011, Maritime will release a new LP, Human Hearts on Dangerbird Records. Indeed, band overlords, Davey von Bohlen and Dan Didier, have to realize how far they’ve come, having now recorded as many albums with Maritime as with their with seminal band, The Promise Ring, (which split in 2002).
    > It’s hard to underestimate their old outfit’s rippling influence on music and related subculture scenes. The Promise Ring made their way partially from, and then more through, the hardcore / punk rock music scene into the burgeoning indie rock world. Incidentally, they were one of the few bands that could equally appeal to both audiences, making a big splash on both music fans and tastemakers alike.
    > Today, Maritime enjoys the perks of being both a great band on their own and one that carries with them a substantial history that indeed tends to prompt a heightened sense of anticipation from fans, friends and contemporaries. The buzz is starting again with the collection of great songs on Human Hearts.
    > Human Hearts was recorded with some degree of leisure in Maritime’s hometown, and the comfortable nature of that situation shows in every layer, from the travelogue—a fave von Bohlen subject—of “Air Arizona” to the insistent shimmer of “Paraphernalia.”
    > In varying degrees, every song on Human Hearts seems to set out to prove something: “Do we fight, fight, fight, fight on?” asks “It’s Casual,” and the answer is clearly “yes.” You can hear it in the gleaming pop-punk gem “Annihilation Eyes,” the climbing “C’mon Sense,” and especially “Faint of Hearts,” which filters classic-rock through Maritime’s pop sensibility, adding a snarl for powerful punctuation at the end.
    > It also feels comfortable: with itself and its station. Maybe it’s because this lineup has been together so long now, or perhaps because it’s the start of a new beginning with Dangerbird Records, the label run by former Promise Ring manager Jeff Castelaz and home to Silversun Pickups, the Dears, Fitz And The Tantrums and Minus The Bear.
    > It’s a strange brew, that’s for sure— blanket-warm ease and tremendous desire. But it’s a snug fit, and a joy to hear.
    lykke li - wounded rhymes (atlantic/ll, 2011)
    http://www.mediafire.com/?z5hm270h27xk514
    ```@2xyvitob:

    > Produced by Bjorn Yttling of Peter, Bjorn & John and recorded in Stockholm, Wounded Rhymes is the follow up to Lykke Li’s critically-acclaimed debut, Youth Novels.
    >
    > As one of 2008’s most talked-about albums, Youth Novels – a postmodern pop masterpiece combining elements of folk music, hip hop, singer/songwriter confessionals and more - established Lykke Li Zachrisson as a true innovator of melody and style.
    >
    > Wounded Rhymes, is one of the most tremendous records you will hear in 2011\. Channeling the demise of The Shangri-La’s Leader of the Pack, women under the influence, ladies and gentlemen of the canyon, a Kung-fu Marianne Faithful, and an armed Nancy Sinatra on peyote, Lykke Li has created a ten song album that sounds like no other. The record is packed full of pounding, voodoo drums, girl group gang vocals, sparkling guitar lines, woozy keyboards, love unrequited, hope reignited and her own very powerful voice, sounding bigger and bolder than ever before.

  • Un par de temazos, pero el disco en conjunto no es nada memorable. Me llama la atención, como aparte de Pitchfork también la dan mucha bola Gorilla vs. Bear y Stereogum.

  • Juas, Nancy Sinatra on peyote.

    La verdad es que ella es así un poco lisérgica en directo, todo sea dicho.

    Qué ganas tenía de este, muchas gracias!

  • Davila 666 - Tan Bajo [In The Red, 2011]

    @nztnfpv9:

    Hailing from San Juan, Puerto Rico, Davila 666 plays fierce Spanish-language garage-pop with gang vocals, tambourines, pop hooks, guitar licks and even a touch of psych here and there. Elements of early Stones, Jesus and the Mary Chain, Dead Boys and '60s girl groups are all evident in Davila's sound. Since their 2008 self-titled debut album, they've released a slew of singles and EPs on labels like HoZac, Rob's House and Douchemaster. The album even received a coveted cassette release on Burger, a garage rock signal that "they've arrived" if ever there was one. As soon as they began recording tracks for their much anticipated follow-up, Tan Bajo, which means "so low," the band realized the sounds they were making were darker and more psychedelic than their previous output. Though it retains the pop and rock 'n' roll one would expect, Tan Bajo is Davila 666's most cohesive release to date.
