Dan Melchior - Assemblage Blues [Siltbreeze, 2011]

@3qsmb0zy:
As Dan Melchior continues to kick the Medway gutbucket to the curb, he is also willfully absorbing all manner ve underground cankerous crud along the way. For those endeared to wallet chains and crisp, cuffed jeans, this has been tantamount to heresy. But for thems what s embraced the sounds of the new Dan, said aberrations are as welcome to caustic ears as a cold beer is to a set ve parched lips. And while last year s Visionary Pangs LP (released with Das Menace on the S-S label) was a grower and a half, Assemblage Blues snuffs it as if it were no more n a sneeze in the wind. This here LP seemingly vibes from such leftfield Blighty heavies as Instant Automatons and L. Voag as well as the dark side of Alex Chilton (think Dusted in Memphis) and the 3:00 A.M. shudder of Prominent Disturbance. Within the canon of the Siltbreeze label, Melchior s magnificent malarkey on Assemblage Blues has secured him a spot somewhere between The Shadow Ring and Jim Shepard. The pone don t sizzle much hotter than there. And the sneezin is nil.

Está bueno este Collapse Into Now. Me imagino que ya mismo aparecerán los leaks (porque las copias para prensa ya está pululando por allí) - o rips de algún stream.

j mascis - several shades of why (subpop, 2011)

http://www.mediafire.com/?q2vf3kei3ci4dr3 ```@34ijfy5p: > In the quarter century since he founded Dinosaur (Jr.), J Mascis has created some of the era’s signature songs, albums and styles. The laconically-based roar of his guitar, drums and vocals have driven a long string of bands—Deep Wound, Dinosaur Jr., Gobblehoof, Velvet Monkeys, the Fog, Witch, Sweet Apple—and he has guested on innumerable sessions. But Several Shades of Why, recorded at Amherst, Massachusetts’ Bisquiteen Studios, is J’s first solo studio record, and it is an album of incredible beauty, performed with a delicacy not always associated with his work. > > Nearly all acoustic, Several Shades of Why was created with the help of a few friends. Notable amongst them are **Kurt Vile**, **Sophie Trudeau** (_A Silver Mount Zion_), **Kurt Fedora** (long-time collusionist), **Kevin Drew** (_Broken Social Scene_), **Ben Bridwell** (_Band of Horses_), **Pall Jenkins** (_Black Heart Procession_), **Matt Valentine** (_The Golden Road_), and **Suzanne Thorpe** (_Wounded Knees_). Together in small mutable groupings, they conjure up classic sounds ranging from English-tinged folk to drifty, West Coast-style singer/songwriterism. But every track, every note even, bears that distinct Mascis watermark, both in the shape of the tunes and the glorious rasp of the vocals. Ten brilliant tunes that quietly grow and expand until they fill your brain with the purest pleasure. [http://www.subpop.com/releases/j_mascis/full_lengths/several_shades_of_why](34ijfy5p) -

pues sí. Me da que suena más guarrillo de lo que sonará en cd (y seguramente también les mejora la producción del disco)

maritime - human hearts (dangerbird, 2011)

http://www.filesonic.com/file/128000571/Maritime_-_Human_Hearts_(2011)_[MP3]_SO_3443106.rar ```@qsgdmlb4: > On April 5, 2011, Maritime will release a new LP, Human Hearts on Dangerbird Records. Indeed, band overlords, Davey von Bohlen and Dan Didier, have to realize how far they’ve come, having now recorded as many albums with Maritime as with their with seminal band, The Promise Ring, (which split in 2002). > It’s hard to underestimate their old outfit’s rippling influence on music and related subculture scenes. The Promise Ring made their way partially from, and then more through, the hardcore / punk rock music scene into the burgeoning indie rock world. Incidentally, they were one of the few bands that could equally appeal to both audiences, making a big splash on both music fans and tastemakers alike. > Today, Maritime enjoys the perks of being both a great band on their own and one that carries with them a substantial history that indeed tends to prompt a heightened sense of anticipation from fans, friends and contemporaries. The buzz is starting again with the collection of great songs on Human Hearts. > Human Hearts was recorded with some degree of leisure in Maritime’s hometown, and the comfortable nature of that situation shows in every layer, from the travelogue—a fave von Bohlen subject—of “Air Arizona” to the insistent shimmer of “Paraphernalia.” > In varying degrees, every song on Human Hearts seems to set out to prove something: “Do we fight, fight, fight, fight on?” asks “It’s Casual,” and the answer is clearly “yes.” You can hear it in the gleaming pop-punk gem “Annihilation Eyes,” the climbing “C’mon Sense,” and especially “Faint of Hearts,” which filters classic-rock through Maritime’s pop sensibility, adding a snarl for powerful punctuation at the end. > It also feels comfortable: with itself and its station. Maybe it’s because this lineup has been together so long now, or perhaps because it’s the start of a new beginning with Dangerbird Records, the label run by former Promise Ring manager Jeff Castelaz and home to Silversun Pickups, the Dears, Fitz And The Tantrums and Minus The Bear. > It’s a strange brew, that’s for sure— blanket-warm ease and tremendous desire. But it’s a snug fit, and a joy to hear. [http://www.dangerbirdrecords.com/releases/maritime/human-hearts](qsgdmlb4) -
