Lorelei – Enterprising Sidewalks (2012)
@s9i4ohck:
First-wave Slumberland Records band Lorelei are back with their first new album since 1994's Everyone Must Touch The Stove. In their 90s heyday, the Washington, DC based three-piece (Matt Dingee on guitar, Stephen Gardner on bass and Davis White on drums) earned a well-deserved reputation as one of the most unique bands around, with a very distinctive blend of post-rock dynamics, sneakily melodic song-writing and ear-blasting guitar noise. Finding kinship with bands as disparate as Whorl, The Swirlies, Laika, Bailter Space and Lilys, Lorelei's records are as subtle and multi-layered and their live show is aggressive and memorably powerful.
New album Enterprising Sidewalks picks right up where Lorelei left off, serving up ten gorgeously complex exercises in pummeling rhythms and melodic abstraction. Produced by the band with Ben Bailes (Chessie), with additional recording by Archie Moore (Velocity Girl, Black Tambourine) and mixing by Guy Fixsen (My Bloody Valentine, Moose, Laika), Enterprising Sidewalks is a deep and intricately-produced listen. Tunes like "Hammer Meets Tongs" and "Sorry For The Patience" are as rich with rhythmic twists and melodic intrigue as their very best material, and Matt's guitar attack is as varied as ever, ranging from ringing harmonics to shredding feedback and back, often within the same verse.http://ul.to/78ebg4zj

It ain't two records, but it is called Twins. Ty's new mind-blow won't just make you see double, it'll make you be double! Fold in on yourself endlessly, hold your own hand, and leap towards the mega-Segall-meteor of 2012, Twins.
Like your Twins in a bundle? Then snatch this one up: $18 gets you the LP solo, but a mere $5 more doubles your pleasure with a download code as accompaniment (delivered on the date of release). For a limited time only, baby — this one's only good til October 9th!http://www.dragcity.com/products/twins

amigos del hardcore, un par de filtraciones para vosotros:
various artists / a tribute to repo man (american laundromat, 2012)
@regve563:
We had a blast working on a tribute to one of our favorite flicks of all time - the 1984 cult classic "Repo Man" written & directed by Alex Cox and featuring Harry Dean Stanton and Emilio Estevez. The original soundtrack celebrated the southern California punk movement of the late 70's/early 80's with bands Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Suicidal Tendencies, The Plugz, and Iggy Pop. We've recruited an outstanding group of artists to cover these now-classic punk tracks, including; Those Darlins, Matthew Sweet, Amanda Palmer, Mike Watt, The Tellers, Black Francis, Weekend, Polar Bear Club, Moses Coltrane, New York Rivals, and The Suicide Dolls. The 6-panel CD Eco-Wallet features original illustrations by revered rock-poster designer Lonny Unitus (Melvins, Decemberists, Willie Nelson), includes full production/player credits, and some great elements inspired from the original film.

trash talk / 119 (odd future/sony, 2012)
@regve563:
Wild Sacramento, California hardcore revivalists Trash Talk had been playing together for two years before their debut recording, Plagues: Walking Disease, was released by Rumble Records in 2007. Taking influence from American hardcore and speed metal, the group comprised vocalist Lee Spielman, guitarist Garrett Stevenson, bassist Spencer Pollard, and drummer Sam Bosson. Steady touring and frantic shows won the guys a well-deserved buzz as friendships with the right people gave them another leg up on the competition. Prior to their next two albums (a 2008 self-titled outing and 2010’s Eyes & Nines on their own Trash Talk Collective label, they released a 7" that featured guest vocals from Keith Morris of Off! and Black Flag fame. Also, a friendship with the fellow skaters and weed-heads in Cerebral Ballzy and Odd Future helped ensure the guys a home on Odd Future Records for 2012’s 119, which expanded their fan base significantly. - Guest artists include Hodgy Beats and Tyler The Creator -
