Volviendo al tema de la Orchestre Poly Rithmo de Cotonuo, acaban de confirmar hace poco que el viernes 6 de mayo tocarán en Frankfurt con afterparty incluida. Han tenido suerte porque estos días iban a estar de gira por Japon al parecer, pero no les ha pillado la catastrofe.

Muy buena la crónica de Mulatu 30!

El cuarto y último disco de este grupo, un colectivo británico que solo existió en estudio, es un PEPINAZO de groove, afro funk, funk yankee, afro rock, percusión, orquesta y desmelene total. Al principio hasta cuela como banda sonora de film de acción de esa época (1977). Es una gozado oírlo a todo trapo. Vaya caññññññññññññññññña…………………..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hombre, ya, de hecho el título del disco ya es bastante explícito como para llevar a engaño en cuanto al contenido del mismo pero no he encontrado un hilo mejor para el exotismo que destila.

por cierto 30", muy bueno el disco de mandingo y sobre todo sus películas.

Anda, hoy que tengo tiempo y ganas, también me proponia subir algo. Por cierto, creo que se han solucionado los problemas con los enlaces, al menos he podido descargarlo sín ningún tipo de problemas al abrirlo. Se nota que han limpiado bien mi equipo…

Dejando aparte de lo de “classics” (seguro que lo son para los que grabaron estos temas), este es un compilatorio del sello Goldmine editado en el 2011 con 15 temas del más sabroso funk oscuro. Hay muy poca información sobre el contenido de este cd, así que he estado buscando, al menos, la discográfica en que se editaron estos 45 rpm y en qué año. Hay mucho bicho del área de Detroit.

Hace ya mucho tiempo que hablamos por aqui de estos fantásticos 4 compilatorios, llenos de hermosas canciones con mensajes sociales, políticos, humanos y con altísima cantidad de ironía y sarcasmo. Los tengo que pedir a mi proveedor habitual porque los quiero tener en formato físico.

Si quieres indagar un poco más, aunque sean grabaciones ya de los 60, te recomiendo…

además de los totems de Trinidad y Tobago, también hay bichos importantes de Jamica calypsoneando a diestro y siniestro. Triple disco, todas grabaciones editadas por Trojan y con un buen sonido
