@untitled:2rjx3ne8:

va / gipsy rhumba: the original rhythm of gipsy rhumba in spain 1965-1974 (soul jazz, 2014)
▼ download | 320kbps
@1zxvasei:
Soul Jazz Records’ new release is the first album ever outside of Spain to seriously focus on the history of Gipsy Rhumba, one of the most interesting musical culture clashes ever that first took place in the early 1960s.
Here in the Catalan region of Spain, Gypsies primarily known as the creators of Flamenco, came up with a fascinating hybrid style – Gipsy Rhumba – which blended together Latin and Rhumba music of Cuba and the Caribbean together with their own Flamenco as well as the emerging Rock and Roll from America.

Bravo tú.
Sé que mi amor no es correspondido, pero te amo un poco.

Alguien que controle de estos temas, me puede comentar algo al respecto de estos 3 artistas?
ATOMIC BOMB! WHO IS WILLIAM ONYEABOR? BY THE ATOMIC BOMB! BAND and SPECIAL GUESTS (US) is an explosive celebration of the cult figure William Onyeabor where members of Hot Chip, LCD Soundsystem and The Rapture are part of the bash. The Africanøs hot sound was originallt recorded and released between 1977 and 1985. The artist himself lives far away from the spotlight, but is currently being hailed as a sort of African relative of Giorgio Moroder.
THE MASTER MUSICIANS OF JAJOUKA led by BACHIR ATTAR (MA) play the same day as The Rolling Stones. This is no coincidence. Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones did recordings of the healer orchestra back in 1968, and they were released after his death in 1971. This made him one of the first to introduce The Master Musicians of Jajouka – and world music in general – to the Western world. Sir Mick Jagger is also a proclaimed fan of the Moroccans. For more than 40 years the master musicians have stood out as one of the pinnacles of Islamic music with their trance-inducing mixture of Arabian oboe, chanting, lute, pan flute and percussion.
HUGO MENDEZ (SOFRITO) (UK) is one of the Sofrito DJ collective's most used members. He vigourously tours international festivals and clubs with his mixture of African booty shake, disco, mambo, funk and cumbia.

@3mmu3r9g:
Today, Record Store Day 2014, see's the release of Gil Scott-Heron's Nothing New, a limited edition vinyl album of unreleased recordings.
During the 2008 I'm New Here sessions at New York’s Looking Glass studios, Scott-Heron recorded stripped-down new versions of some of his greatest songs. Accompanying himself on piano and with no overdubs, this is Nothing New, a unique musical insight into one of the most profound recording artists of our time.

@3mmu3r9g:
Seun Kuti & Egypt 80‘s third studio album A Long Way To The Way Beginning, co-produced by Robert Glasper, promises to be a politically-charged modern afrobeat affair that reshapes his father’s message for the present. “This album is a soundtrack for the mindset of most young people in Africa today,” mentions Seun, “As African youth we have to stand for what we want.”

@3mmu3r9g:
In a rare father-and-son collaboration, Toumani Diabaté, genius of African music and widely recognised as the greatest living kora player, has recorded an album of duets with his son Sidiki, the instrument’s emerging star.
Described as “the finest Toumani collaboration since his classic work with Ali Farka Touré” (The Guardian) ‘Toumani & Sidiki’ is a dialogue conducted through the kora, the 21-string West African harp which the Diabaté dynasty has elevated into the most iconic of African instruments. Father-and-son collaborations are rare enough but the ties binding Toumani and Sidiki Diabaté are particularly profound and evocative. Descended from a line of griots - custodians of the ancient oral traditions of West Africa’s Mandé people stretching back seven hundred years - the names Toumani and Sidiki are significant names in the annals of African music.http://www.toumaniandsidiki.com/product/wcv087-toumani–sidiki

Nuevo lanzamiento del sello Soundway. Pinta bien!
FUMAÇA PRETA’s hard hitting, free-wheeling debut LP brings together elements of tropicalia, psychedelic rock, fuzz funk, musique concrete, acid house, radiophonic electronics, hair metal, voodoo and African, Brazilian and Latin rhythms. Beaming down from another planet and sonically stretching across decades, ‘FUMAÇA PRETA’ will be released on Soundway Records on 15th September.
FUMAÇA PRETA (pronounced Foomassa Pretta – meaning Black Smoke) started as a studio experiment when Alex Figueira, a Portuguese-Venezuelan producer and percussionist, invited some old friends to join him in the tiny analogue studio he built on the back of his house in Amsterdam.
After producing 2 critically acclaimed 45s, Fumaça Preta continued to work in the Barracão Sound Laboratory, swiftly producing their debut album. All musical boundaries collapsed during recording as the band drew upon their vast array of varied influences.
Live, FUMAÇA PRETA becomes a quintet that swerves in and out of endless musical avenues but never loses the rock solid heavy psychedelic groove that drives them.

@3bnjxge6:
Sublime Frequencies is thrilled to present a 2nd volume of classic tracks from Algeria’s popular music history. Where volume 1 focused on the early to mid-1970s Rai scene in western Algeria, this album features a variety of pop and folk styles from that same period. From the heavier rock and psychedelic sounds of Rachid & Fethi, Les Djinns and Les Abranis to the haunting folk music of Kri Kri and Djamel Allem and the Film soundtrack moods of Ahmed Malek, 1970s Algerian Folk & Pop documents a key period in the modern musical renaissance of a nation in transition. Most of these tracks are from 45 rpm singles, the key format during the early 1970s before the cassette took over as the medium of choice. Western musical influences can be heard throughout this extremely diverse record yet there is an undeniable Algerian sense of sadness contained here within a more tolerant space in time between two of the country’s most significant historical periods; National Independence from France and the darker times of a brutal civil war yet to come. Compiled by Hicham Chadly, this CD edition comes in a digipak with lovely images from the period and extensive liner notes by Omar Zelig.

lee fields & the expressions / emma jean (truth and soul, 2014)

@3bnjxge6:
Soul legend Lee Fields has re-teamed with The Expressions for new album Emma Jean. The full LP will be out June 3 on Truth & Soul Records & Itunes. Coming at a time when many new artists are trying to emulate the soul and swagger of the 1960s, Mr. Fields showers us with authenticity on the 11-track set, highlighted by first single “Magnolia.” Hear the refreshed cover of the JJ Cale track that embodies the late, great American singer-songwriter and the Tulsa Sound he helped create. Since releasing his first album in 1969, Fields has continued to make music for the last 45 years. And having been on the road, touring non-stop for the better part of the last decade, it's evident that Fields has hit an elevated stride both as a recording artist and live performer. Emma Jean is the follow up to Fields’ widely praised first two Truth & Soul albums—2009’s My World and 2012’s Faithful Man. Lee Fields & The Expressions have forged a distinct soulful sound and a grown style with this album. They’ve pushed their sound in new directions, moving from being content as contemporary soul music royalty and instead delving into and exploring its next steps. There's a sharper wisdom in the songwriting–from the having loved, lost, and learned vibe of “Don't Leave Me This Way,” backed by crooning guitar and wailing horns, to the sophisticated arrangements and studio acumen that's pared with Lee's straightforward sincerity in “Just Can't Win.” Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys wrote “Paralyzed,” and having Emma Jean mixed and partially recorded at his Nashville studio, country soul and bluesy rock are immediately noticeable. It brings a different kind of strut to the album, but Fields--born and raised in North Carolina--is right at home with the Southern soul sound. In fact, it feels like a natural progression: an organic, refreshingly pure next step. Like past releases from this matchless pairing of Fields' warm-and-raw growl and The Expressions' switched-on and sharp musicianship, Emma Jean takes soul music in a familiar but updated direction. "He's 63 years old,” notes the album’s producer and co-owner of Truth & Soul Leon Michels, “he's so focused, and has been working non-stop--he's singing the best he ever has."
