FESTIVALES 2011

  • Recopilacion de lo anunciado ya por Roskillas 2011:

AFROCUBISM (INT) is a musical meeting between Cuba and West Africa. This transatlantic supergroup was on the drawing board for the first time in 1996. Back then the Africans did not reach Cuba.
Instead, the Cubans recorded Buena Vista Social Club, one of the biggest sales successes of the global music scene. Now the meeting has taken place and the original vision is finally played out. African superstars such as Toumani Diabaté, Djelimady Tounkara and Bassekou Kouyate are unusual partners for Buena Vista member Eliades Ochoa, often regarded as the Cuban answer to Johnny Cash.
With Afrocubism, Roskilde Festival presents a meeting between musical superpowers. A row of stars, which individually could take up a whole evening slot with their own respective projects, exchange stardust. It is quite a rendezvous, also when thinking of the many common threads linking together the Cuban and West African music scenes through history.

AUTOPSY (US) is legendary and trendsetting in death metal. The band plays its only Scandinavian concert next summer at Roskilde Festival – and is generally not playing much next year. Accordingly, Autopsy's return is backed by a much-awaited new album. With these pioneers on the programme, brutal death metal is guaranteed, unsuitable for children and weak souls. The uncompromising heroes' visit is an outstanding metal event.

IRON MAIDEN (UK) An unforgettable round of Maiden is in store for the audience at the Roskilde Festival. The heavy metal legends’ recapturing of the Orange Stage will be the band’s only festival concert in Scandinavia this summer. Iron Maiden’s new album, The Final Frontier, shows a group of musicians who, in spite of having played nearly 2,000 concerts, still holds a firm grip of their instruments. The same goes for an untiring audience who greets the British heroes with their arms raised high in the air in almost every part of the world. The hellfire, the theatrical refrains, the wind-swept sensation; the entire riff-packed Valkyrie ride is still intact in Iron Maiden after 30 years as one of the most important heavy rock bands.

KINGS OF LEON (US) have grown from being a respected alternative rock band to absolute stadium stars. Since their fourth album – the breakthrough Only by the Night – things have progressed rapidly, and Kings of Leon are no longer just for fans of alternative country rock with a Southern accent. Today the whole world sings along to hits such as "Sex On Fire" and "Use Somebody".
Kings of Leon have just released a long-awaited follow-up – Come Around Sundown – that, according to the band itself, should satisfy both new and old fans. It is one of the best selling alternative rock albums right now and has been praised by Rolling Stone, Uncut and Q Magazine, among others. Previous album Only By The Night has sold 6.5 million copies so far.
With a new album out and an ultimate star status, a reunion concert with the royal lads is obvious. Kings of Leon also visited Roskilde Festival in 2004 and 2008, and the audience really want them back. When we asked for your music requests in October, Kings of Leon were the most popular request.

HOW TO DRESS WELL (US) is the name of a music project by philosophy scholar Tom Krell. With his reverb-drenched falsetto voice as the primary instrument, he dissolves the R&B genre and creates a personal universe filled with childhood memories, beauty and mystery. It is like a meeting between Bon Iver and Justin Timberlake in a David Lynch film.
How To Dress Well's debut album Love Remains is a hit on numerous blogs and in underground music zines on the strength of its abstract and heartrending sounds.

WEEKEND (US) is a brand-new noise rock band from San Francisco. The band makes a virtue of brutal guitar feedback and towering decibel levels that could force even Godzilla down on his knees. The tracks on the debut album Sports do not use cheap tricks but respect the legacy of bands such as Joy Division, The Jesus and Mary Chain and My Bloody Valentine. Lo-fi, punk and noise in an uncompromising union from a group of debutants, which will enthuse everyone with a nose for new talent.

  • AZKENA ROCK FESTIVAL 2011

Ozzy Osbourne, Gregg Allman, The Cult, Black Country Communion, The Avett Brothers, Bad Brains, Reverend Horton Heat, Blue Rodeo, Clutch y New Bomb Turks son los primeros nombres del ARF 2011.

  • Algún año tocarán , no?

  • @ForSilence:1c48rtpo:

    Algún año tocarán , no?

    UNDERWORLD
    HYPE WILLIAMS
    A-TRAK
    ATMOSPHERE
    LITTLE DRAGON
    TYONDAI BRAXTON
    MARY ANNE HOBBS
    SALEM

    Guay, aunque pocos nombres.

  • Atmosphere !!!!!

  • mmmm Hype Williams, interesante

  • Pelukini hace un rato:

    @p2k5d45b:

  • @Pelukini:1nkug85w:

    @sdzcbk8z:
